Bryant is a good depth signing. Perhaps this was discussed elsewhere, but any idea why Jacksonville released him? In Seattle it appears pretty clear it was a salary cap move.

Nice. Love the Bryant signing. Hope they didn't have to overpay but that's a solid move and a great place for him to play.

yea hes put together a respectable resume, and should be able to contibute. i like it.

Bryant was a solid player for a while there. What happened?

If you're talking Seattle, it was mostly a cap issue with players like Sherman and others getting big contracts. Can't keep everybody.

Plus allows Rex to do some Rexy stuff with Kyle and Dareus that he probably couldn't do without a big fat guy like that.

DL Bryant, RB Wood the latest to sign with the Bills

Sweeting is gone. :cry:

@buffalobills

The Bills have signed DL Red Bryant + RB Cierre Wood, cut TE Chris Manhertz + CB Rod Sweeting. http://bufbills.co/LBWbB5

and the QBs weep!

yep - looks like a very prudent signing

@ChrisTrapasso: #Bills Marcell Dareus had highest @PFF run-stop grade in '14 at DT position. Bryant, listed as 4-3 DE, had No. 3 run-stop grade. Hughes 8th.

I had thought Manhertz looked no worse then anyone else on this team at the TE position, save for Clay.

They can probably just replace Sweeting's reps with the WRs going against air. It's basically the same thing.

Was hoping we'd sign Bryant. Perfect fit IMO and should be getting some PT. great addition for goalie, 3rd and short and running downs

Did Tim Murray sign off on this?

Really surprised Bryant was still a free agent. He is a very good run stuffer and versatile enough to play in a 3-4 or 4-3. A bit one dimensional of a player but hard to think some team coming off of a weak year in run defense wouldn't have signed him as a rotational player. Maybe he wanted to be part of a good unit? If he was waiting on a good situation he might have found one. Bills will both be a good defense and should have significant playing time for him.
