The Hornell Kid Posted February 13, 2005 Posted February 13, 2005 Are any of you Bledsoe fans actully Bills fans, or are you going to change teams with Drew?
Typical TBD Guy Posted February 13, 2005 Posted February 13, 2005 No joke it is the forseen truth. LOSERMAN. 236474 Are you a Bills fan or just a Drew fan?
njsue Posted February 13, 2005 Posted February 13, 2005 Are you a Bills fan or just a Drew fan? 237127 I have been a bills fan since 1987. Drew Bledsoe gives the bills the best chance to win. Definitly not a rookie. I would rather keep moving forward with a veteran. Obviously most people here want to keep whining. Starting this rookie will take the bills way way back. DREW BLEDSOE STAYS.

John from Riverside Posted February 13, 2005 Posted February 13, 2005 Of course she cant. She is the most clueless poster on this board and that says alot 237008 You know....I was defending Bledsoe last year at this time....I certainly hope that my posts didn't sound like Sue's....who I mean no disrespt to....but jesus..... DELUSIONAL
Fla Bills Fan Posted February 13, 2005 Posted February 13, 2005 Rookie on the bench with a clip board. 237210 One year vet who sat on the bench, watched film, learned. When would you like JP to start, after he sat on the bench for 4 years? The only way to get experience at anything is to go out and do it. A dentist has to pull that first tooth, a doctor has to make that first incision etc.

I want JP to start when I've seen him play against starters in several games in pre-season at the least, and has outperformed Bledsoe. I wish he showed enough to give the coaching staff enough confidence to play him in mop-up duty in some of the games last year, but that wan't the case, and that's what scares me with the news of the Bills handing the reins over to him. At least with dentists and doctors, they perform procedures under the supervision of an established dentist or doctor several times before going out on their own.
Shameless Homer Posted February 13, 2005 Posted February 13, 2005 I'll answer this. At least with dentists and doctors, they perform procedures under the supervision of an established dentist or doctor several times before going out on their own. 237330 This sums up fairly well how I feel. Truth is though, JP did appear in 4 games with no pressure. He didn't impress, and in fact had me scratching my head. It was, granted, a small sample. Not a fair assessment. Maybe magic will happen in the offseason. Bledsoe ended the year 9-3. While everyone wants to conclude that Bledsoe lost the 3 games and the team won the 9, methinks that that may be a tad unfair. I think Bledsoe should start the season and be on a short leash.
Shameless Homer Posted February 13, 2005 Posted February 13, 2005 I don't understand how he "didn't impress".He handed the ball off to Shaud Williams when he did get to play. 237397 He had two turnovers and a sack in his first five snaps. A 38.9 QB rating for the year. I don't think, "he didn't impress" is being unfair.

I'd rather go with an unknown that a proven loser. Get over it.
MadBuffaloDisease Posted February 13, 2005 Posted February 13, 2005 I don't understand how he "didn't impress". Okay then, he UNIMPRESSED me. He handed the ball off to Shaud Williams when he did get to play. I would expect a little more from a 1st round draft pick than to just hand-off the ball to a 3rd string RB in garbage time. There were also numerous other games in which the Bills could have gotten JP some action but didn't, for some reason. Like I said, I'd rather JP EARNED the job than simply be handed it. However the way it's working out is that he's being handed the job, like Todd Collins and RJ were. And again as I said, I hope he starts to impress me because I don't want to see a Bills player fail.
crackur Posted February 13, 2005 Author Posted February 13, 2005 he threw an INT too .........only had what like 4 or 5 passes? and he threw a PICK!
Fla Bills Fan Posted February 13, 2005 Posted February 13, 2005 His footwork, his throwing mechanics, the way he scans the field, the way he reacts to pressure, his poise (lack thereof, really) in the pocket... I'm prepared to be wrong, of course...but I've see nothing from the kid that he has in common with successful QBs, and plenty that he has in common with first-round busts. 236539 What have you been watching? The kid can move out of his way - unlike Bledsoe. He is also very accurate throwing on the run.
Nanker Posted February 13, 2005 Posted February 13, 2005 he threw an INT too .........only had what like 4 or 5 passes? and he threw a PICK! 237458 Well, Bledsoe certainly never did THAT!

And after that, the Bills had a six game winning streak where almost every 4th quarter was 'garbage time'. I guess we'll all find out come September.

There were also numerous other games in which the Bills could have gotten JP some action but didn't, for some reason. 237445 I don't understand this thinking. During the season, when JP wasn't coming in as much as he could, people said the coaches know something we don't. He obviously wasn't ready to play. Trust the coaches, they see him everyday. Now that the coaches are ready to put him in, no one trusts them. he threw an INT too .........only had what like 4 or 5 passes? and he threw a PICK! Well, maybe JP was going to throw 1 INT for every hundred pass attempts. We just never got the chance to see the other 95 completions!
