Dorkington Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Looks like Karlos is our fastest runner, McCoy our most elusive runner, Jackson trucks the best. (Not counting Boobie, because I assume he's short yards/special teams only)
GunnerBill Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Harvin is overrated by Madden. No surprise there... with Harvin the potential always outshines the reality he is a perfect computer game football player. He will have fewer yards and catches than both Sammy and Robert Woods.

LeGOATski Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 How is Goodwin not a 99 in speed/acc? Who is faster than him? Dri Archer is one.
BuffaloHokie13 Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Dri Archer is one. Is Trindon Holliday still in the league?
LeGOATski Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Is Trindon Holliday still in the league? Raiders and he was slower than Goodwin at the combine.
BuffaloHokie13 Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Raiders and he was slower than Goodwin at the combine. Ah, I just know he was an Olympic sprinter, forget if it was solo or relay
Dorkington Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 (edited) Percy Harvin is the 8th most elusive player in the game. With Sammy as 13th, and McCoy 132nd (may have been ties in there, but didn't check... just been sorting the spreadsheet various ways) Running a 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 HB formation with this team is going to be pretty successful as long as you can complete a pass with our trifect of crappy QBs haha. Cassel is best, I guess if you can just run short routes for big YAC Gragg still appears to be a video game stud, 85 speed, 90 acceleration, but doesn't have the greatest hands. I used Gragg a lot in previous years. Kyle and Dareus both have >90 block shedding. Should make a formidable combo on interior runs. Kyle Williams ratings are inflated by awareness and play recognition, overall rating is only one behind Dareus, but Dareus's skill ratings are much higher in most cases. Mario 87 power move, 73 Finesse move, 74 block shedding (??! not very high among DEs in the league), 88 pursuit Jerry 71 power move, 96 finesse move (highest in the league), 68 block shedding, 88 pursuit Both are pretty mediocre in Tackle ratings as well. Man our DEs got screwed. Little curious there... Edited August 13, 2015 by Dorkington
dollars 2 donuts Posted August 13, 2015 Author Posted August 13, 2015 Jeepers, Dork, that is some dynamite analysis.
Dorkington Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 I like looking at this stuff Hah, OBJ is 94 OVR, 4th among WRs.
Alphadawg7 Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Dareus (94) K. Williams (93) Mario (90) Gilmore (86) Hughes (85) Graham (84) Bradham (83) McKelvin (80) A Williams (79) I am not 100% sure about a starting 11, but if someone suggests a group I can pull the ratings for the remaining guys. EDIT: But I think it is ridiculous that they have Darby at 70!!!!! Its also ridiculous Mario is only 90 and not in the top 5 at DE Name OVR Speed Acc Catch Sp Ctch Ctch Traffic Route Running Harvin 86 89 92 87 80 79 83 Watkins 85 92 91 89 92 86 79 Woods 80 90 87 85 90 85 80 Hogan 72 84 87 81 81 80 75 Easley 68 89 90 74 81 74 57 Goodwin 68 95 96 74 82 69 65 Lewis 67 90 91 87 80 83 52 Thompson 65 93 92 69 76 65 62 Brown 63 84 90 73 76 79 48 Thigpen 61 86 89 70 66 65 45 Palmer 59 91 92 69 65 61 58 Goodwin is tied for 11th fastest player in the game. I seriously doubt any GM, Coach, etc in football would say Harvin is a better route runner than Sammy. In fact, just about everyone would say thats an area where Harvin needs to improve to take the next step as a serious WR rather than a gadget player.
dollars 2 donuts Posted August 13, 2015 Author Posted August 13, 2015 Guys, this PO's me a little bit. I get that your stats are your stats, but it does look like they take too much of the players that affect (yes, I did mean "a" and not "e" - not resulting but influencing) you into consideration. OBJ is not that much better than Watkins (if at all) but his QB is better than "insert Bills QB here".
Dorkington Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 (edited) Its also ridiculous Mario is only 90 and not in the top 5 at DE Wait, Watkins has a 79 route running? Yeah, I'm not sure how Madden ratings work, but I know a lot of it is based on really general perception. Bills players tend to be rated lower since the team historically doesn't play well, likewise players on teams like the Patriots get rated higher, because the Patriots tend to win. It's basically to balance out results in the game, since the game can't really account for things like coaching, strategy, and timely calls. Also Madden games tend to not rotate through players as much as the real NFL, so depth, an important factor in real life, isn't as important in Madden, and thus the starters need to be adjusted. The Jokeman Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 (edited) FYI for rookies/young players, their overall ratings are generally lower than their performance in the game, due to being low in things like "Awareness". It's always best to review individual ratings in attributes that are important to the position before getting too mad. Likely Darby has all the skill/speed needed to be an effective CB in the game, but lacks in a few vet friendly attributes, which artificially lower his score. Preston Brown MLB 78 John Conner FB 77 John Conner is a point below Preston Brown? Yeah Conner won't even be making this team meanwhile Brown is arguably our 7th best defender. As rank them Dareus, Mario, Kyle, Hughes, Gilmore, Brandham, Brown. Edited August 13, 2015 by The Jokeman
boyst Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 How is Goodwin not a 99 in speed/acc? Who is faster than him?because he is not Olympic speed. But he is an Olympic jumper. Tj graham was much faster on the track in all races, for example.
Pilsner Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 (edited) Whoever did these ratings are clowns (to a certain extent). I suppose it can be a tad difficult to rate rookies' awareness though. My brother was a Madden QA tester in the mid 90's and it was bad even back then. A programmer (Giants fan) had his bookends obscenely rated too highly and so my brother was able to notch them down to a more realistic level. But it's been over 20 years now and the stats are still controversial. There must be some good people at EA doing the stats and some less knowledgeable as well. What I'm wondering is when a player performs well and has his stat (awareness for example) upgraded by a +4 from 74 (initial base stat) to a 78 does that seem accurate? Or do they throw away the base number after the first game and just post a new relevant number regardless of the base. The reason I ask is that rookies' awareness is a complete crapshoot for many players until you see what they do in their first game. After a great first game performance do the EA madden geeks say ok wow we were way off base starting him off at a 65 awareness, we should have started at a 75 and now boost him up to 77. On a side note, does Geno's toughness rating drop from a (just guessing here) 35 to a low 20's now? Can it go back up if he recovers sooner than 6 weeks? Does it go even lower if someone drops him again for mouthing off? Just things to consider. Go Bills! Edited August 14, 2015 by Pilsner
justnzane Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 How is Goodwin not a 99 in speed/acc? Who is faster than him? Goodwin is fast, but not as fast as some with pads on. Ah, I just know he was an Olympic sprinter, forget if it was solo or relay Long Jump is his specialty, but he is a formidable sprinter. That said, 11th fastest in the NFL sounds close to right. Aaron Williams got hosed on his rating more than some of the D-talent. That said, DonkeyKongSuh and Wake being rated higher than Dareus and Mario makes no sense. You could make a case for DonkeyKong over Dareus, but Wake over Mario only if you are smoking more weed than Ricky Williams. Typical Madden anti-Buffalo bias.
26CornerBlitz Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 So much for the meaning of Madden ratings. @BuffRumblings OL Alex Kupper, the guy who had back-to-back horrible snaps last night, is rated higher than 2014 2nd round pick Cyrus Kouandjio in Madden.
