Rocky Landing Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 we should talk this out. why not? why not let the young ones take their lumps? I think honestly they should start EJ bring in TT on packages that are not necessarily packages. Let TT sit in the pocket and let EJ break out with Read Options. If Cassseelll starts we have no True hope. just waiting to fight another day. Lets get crazy Bills. lets get weird. lets do the unexpected. Lets freak the other teams out because of " who saw that coming " plays I think you need to talk yourself down from the ledge a little bit on this. Cassel starting does not, ipso facto, spell doom. Nor does it mean the next in line on the depth chart is washed up.
Solomon Grundy Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 QB ratings- EJ - 109.7 Taylor - 78.4 Meh - 43.5 109.7 QBR?? CUT EJ NOW!! QB ratings- EJ - 109.7 Taylor - 78.4 Meh - 43.5 I hope Chan didn't see this!!
reddogblitz Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 QB ratings- EJ - 109.7 Taylor - 78.4 Meh - 43.5 QB ratings for practice? This keeps getting better and better.
truth on hold Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 cassell is the only one that really fits the "game manager" label manuel is too inconsistent and taylor is a running QB like a Vick so if theyre looking for a "game manager" to let the defense win it, cassell is odds on favorite to win the job
ALF Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 After practice, Cassel also noted that he feels much better coming off that foot injury than he did in the spring. The spring was Cassel's first chance to run on grass since breaking his foot. Now he's starting to trust it again, and it's showing on his deeper passes. "It was a long recovery," Cassel said. "Of course it's going to take some time to get yourself into football shape and get your legs moving and trusting your foot, but I think at this point I'm completely healed and I feel great." http://www.syracuse.com/buffalo-bills/index.ssf/2015/08/matt_cassel_steps_up_with_three_touchdowns_in_practice_7_observations_from_day_9.html This is good news
truth on hold Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 face it guys, Matt the Merciless is our next QB

Bleed Bills Blue Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Looks like my prediction of Cassel getting cut sooner then later is coming true. Ouch. Sux to be cut twice.
Maury Ballstein Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 (edited) yep, to bad the simpletons around here can't understand this.Look at the obsessed EJ basher melting down. Stay classy chief. To to to bad. Edited August 11, 2015 by Ryan L Billz
8-8 Forever? Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 I agree that this is a final audition for Cassel. If it's a dead heat, Roman would rather have a mobile Tyrod or EJ. If Cassel can't take the job in the next two weeks, I think he's cut and they want to do their due diligence. when I first read this post, I said, knee jerk reaction,... thennnnn, I said, hey this could be it... let him run with the 1's ; if he doesn't perform then we declare we have nothing with him and we start over with EJ and TT... hmmmm...
Magox Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 It appears to me that Cassel as or right now has the inside track of being our starting QB with Tyrod as the #2. If EJ doesn't impress the coaches, my guess is that he is the odd man out. Â Are there any cap savings to dumping EJ?

With that being said, when Rex mentioned Michael Vick not being a good fit in Buffalo due to weather do we think Taylor falls into that category?

Kelly the Dog Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Have to agree here. With that being said, when Rex mentioned Michael Vick not being a good fit in Buffalo due to weather do we think Taylor falls into that category? The opposite. Rex was talking about the fact that Vick has small hands and when the ball gets cold or wet he has a tendency to fumble or give it up on INTs. Taylor has big hands, as does EJ, and Rex doesn't think it would be a problem for them.
dave mcbride Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 My take on this is that there's very little chance that Cassel gets cut. None of these qbs are good, and they aren't going to get rid of the one vet. Newsflash: the Bills are under the cap and will be when the season starts. Money isn't really an issue.

People read one thing and don't understand the whole picture on why Rex said something. Live and die by the soundbite.

Dave, not sure if you noticed but something you said in the spring was brought up yesterday by Cassell. He had that he had trouble pushing off his bad foot in the spring and didn't always trust it, but for the first time was feeling 100% now and it's making a difference in his throwing.

Didn't see that - thanks! Apparently his injury was worse than people knew (I think I read this in a Carucci piece, but don't quote me on that).
