Thank you America. this pile of $%^& needs to burn. Stop ruining my childhood, and give the franchise back to Marvel!

Even with a lowered forecast of 45 million after bad audience and critical screenings forced re-shoots, this awful re-imagining is on pace to make $27 million it's opening weekend. (just barely more than Pixels). It currently has a 9% rotten tomato rating with only %28 of audiences liking the movie.

Despite Marvel's success at translating it's comic book heroes to the screen, Fox is continuing to insist it can ignore canon and produce a story with little to no reference to the source material. The directors/writers/producers have even told actors to avoid reading the comic books since they want a "fresh" take on the characters. The Director. Trank, has already begun to distance himself from the wreckage, blaming Fox executives for ruining his "vision." In my opinion, no amount of tinkering could have salvaged this steaming pile.

If you want a fun movie to watch this weekend, go see Ant-man or Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation.

Antman. The idea is so stupid. No way Im watching that.

I've lost count of how many times Batman and Supes have been rebooted but now with Suicide Squad we're guaranteed to get at least 4 more spin offs with characters no one cares about.

And every origin story is identical.

You are not everyone or you do not understand what 'no one' means. Suicide Squad has potential to be good like Guardians of the Galaxy or bad like a lot of movies where director decided to add too much of what director liked losing the appeal of the original story like the Lone Ranger and Green Hornet.

And just because YOU can not distinguish differences in origin stories does not mean all readers / watchers are so clueless.

Koolaid....I think he might be in a position to made an educated response on that.

Stop being "that guy"

You're losing out.

I thought the same thing you did.

It's probably one of the best movies of the year.

Really?

Better than terminator?

I love terminator movies.

The full, unreleased, low budget Fantastic Four movie from 1994: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x19pvwt_the-fantastic-four-1994-unreleased-roger-corman_shortfilms

It's as bad as youd expect.

No Jessica Alba in it.

Pass.

Much better than terminator, and I'm an Emilia Clarke fan.

It has Evangeline Lily.

Has a 91% audience approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes despite almost everyone admitting they think it's a lame premise.

Antman and Ex Machina are my top 2 of the year so far.

I'll wait for redbox on this one. Sorry. No convincing me.

I'll get a small soda so I can fit in if that makes you feel better.

Small fries too.

The shameful thing is, I think THIS is the point. In an attempt to maximize income potential, studios are trying to fit everything into a PG13 mode. After all, if mom and dad can take their three kiddies with them, why that's more money for everyone.

Thinking about the truly GREAT rated r movies of my generation:

Wall Street (1987)

Goodfellas (1990)

Silence of the Lambs (1991)

Scarface (1983)

Full Metal Jacket (1987)

Blue Velvet (1986)

None of those movies could have been made today. And I don't think it's for the reasons that GreggyT believes. I believe that NONE of those movies are "politcally correct" enough to survive in today's environment. They deal with complex issues in sometimes offensive ways. They all portray real evil in all its forms, and I think Americans are so pussified that they're afraid to conceive of the idea of evil.

Just my amateur opinion.

I think you're both right. Hollywood wants guaranteed geese that lay golden eggs and there is a great deal of worry and trepidation about inflaming sensitivities.

Think about it.

You can't shoot up entire police departments anymore on screen. (Terminator)

You can't violently rob banks. (Heat)

You CERTAINLY can't crash planes as part of a movie plot (Die Hard 2)

Can't smack women around. (Casino)

Can't show women of a highly aggressive sexual nature. (Basic Instinct)

Can't offend anybody (Red Dawn 2 are the hapless North Koreans instead of the Chinese, Rambo took on some random Cambodians)

Can't lose your **** and just start killing people. (Commando, Speed, Demolition Man, nearly every Chuck Norris film)

I doubt Saving Private Ryan would be made in today's Hollywood. Way too real. Not nearly enough time travel.

Everyone is talking about how bad the Fantastic Four is, and it's too bad. I miss the good old days, when every movie was great.

Like The Winged Serpent.

Go ahead. Watch the trailer. Man against the fantastic flying forces of a lost age.

Man, I miss the great flicks.

LIke I said, it's your loss.

If you already know what you like, then there's no point in trying to convince you. It's just a recommendation (by almost everyone who's seen the movie)

If you're that against it, then you'll hate it no matter what just to prove a point. Be part of the 9%! I just think you're limiting your options.

Actually, you remind me of my friend why refuses to watch Game of Thrones because it's too "trendy."

I will see your Winged Serpent, and counter with Nazis At The Center Of The Earth, it's got Jake Busey as the lead actor and a Robot Hitler (not shown in the trailer)...

It seems like tv shows are more hard core. So i dont know if i agree with you completely.

Not really.

I get bored of the shows now rather quickly.

Example: I was loving Last ship last year. Didnt miss an episode. But the last 3 weeks were not watched and were deleted over the weekend. So just one season and gave up.

Same thing with Defiance. LoveD that show. I saw the last 2 seasons. But this time I got burned out quick. I saw 2 or 3 episodes and gave up.

I like family guy a lot. dont know why that guy doesnt bore me.
