Rob's House Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 My biggest concern is if he gets a DUI AND a hit & run. You're only supposed to get one or the other, not both. Aldon Smith should be out of the NFL. There's no reason that these guys can't stay on the right side of the law. Addiction only affects people of diminished cognitive ability and moral character.
Augie Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 I'll just hope this is a person who can get his life together. That means far more than his football career. Many fine people get caught in the trap. Best of luck.

Addiction only affects people of diminished cognitive ability and moral character It's not like the guy could afford to take an Uber every now and then. Or even hire a full-time driver. DUIs by people making millions a year infuriate me. It's not the drinkin', it's the drivin'. (I do recognize that there does seem to be a serious addiction issue here, but that's distinct from the driving drunk issue)
26CornerBlitz Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 @sn_nfl Giants reportedly among several teams interested in Aldon Smith http://dlvr.it/BnzbLj

NOTHING MAKES SENSE. My children have been to more funerals than I have. That's not hyperbole. It has very little to do with net worth. It's much more complicated. Edited August 10, 2015 by Augie

Is it mostly the heroin epidemic or drinking related things?
Augie Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 (edited) Wow. Is it mostly the heroin epidemic or drinking related things? It's mostly due to getting kids hooked on prescription drugs (which were VERY easy to get in Florida, though some rules have now changed) then when the pills aren't available they turn to heroin. Good kids from good families, but it's everywhere. It's really shocking to see how common it is. But yes, they usually start with drinking, of course. Edited August 10, 2015 by Augie
bbb Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 It's all over. Today's Buffalo News: http://www.buffalonews.com/city-region/i-lost-the-love-of-my-life-20150810 I see pictures of young people in the "Deaths" pages of the Buffalo News (I'm that last person who actually gets the paper) and I assume opiates are involved.
Bill from NYC Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 I don't know. The science is shaky and I think the cops were biased. Why the hate for the cops? I doubt if they are Bills fans.
Buffalo_Stampede Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Thought he got arrested again since last week.
