CNY315 Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 (edited) On their message board they feel they can have a top 10 D. Apparently they were 11th last year. Didn't know they were ranked that high Edited August 6, 2015 by CNY315
YoloinOhio Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 On their message board they feel they can have a top 10 D. Apparently they were 11th last year. Didn't know they were ranked that highthey played 6 of their games vs bortles, fitz and tenneesee's qb of the week.
Dorkington Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Indy's D last year: 19th in points given up 17th in yards per play 11th in turnovers 17th in yards per pass 21st in yards per rush Yet ranked 10th in pro-football-references "expected points" ranking. Weird.

EmotionallyUnstable Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 they played 6 of their games vs bortles, fitz and tenneesee's qb of the week. Great point
Dorkington Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 (edited) Ok, here's some good ones for the Colts defense 4th in drives ending with a score 5th in yards per drive 1st in time of drive 1st in plays faced per drive 10th points per drive Looks like they stop opponents early and quickly Edited August 6, 2015 by Dorkington
EmotionallyUnstable Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 1st in time of drive? Isn't that more of a reflection of the offense moving quickly?
LeGOATski Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 1st in time of drive? Isn't that more of a reflection of the offense moving quickly? Could be that they're prone to big plays...I think there's a big play stat somewhere. Somebody should look for it.
Dorkington Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 (edited) 1st in time of drive? Isn't that more of a reflection of the offense moving quickly? The opposing team's offense's drive ends quickly. Combined with high rankings in yards per drive (low yards per drive), that means they stop opposing team's offense pretty quickly. Wonder if there's an average number of plays a team holds an opposing team to per drive stat... Edit, yes there is... Indy is first in plays per drive given up (lowest amount of plays faced per drive at 5.2) http://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2014/opp.htm#drives::7 Edited August 6, 2015 by Dorkington
johnwalter Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Sammy Watkins vs Vontae Davis - enough said This should be awesome to watch! Vontae is one of my favorite non-Bills, and should be a true test of how much Sammy has progressed. Stay healthy Sammy!

Like are touchdowns given up in 1 play counted for? Weird/interesting stat
Dorkington Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Does that stat include how the drive ends? Like are touchdowns given up in 1 play counted for? Weird/interesting stat No, but you can figure it out with the included numbers on that page... Just break out excel and populate some tables
YoloinOhio Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 (edited) FYI - Shady vs Colts D in week 2 MNF last year in Indy - 102 all purpose yards and 1 TD (19 carries for 79, 4 catches for 23). Edited August 6, 2015 by YoloinOhio
26CornerBlitz Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 @nflnetwork Colts' veteran OLB Robert Mathis could be out until October after missing all of 2014: http://bit.ly/1EcvIMr
Bookie Man Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 Hoping the d line doesn't face a similar collapse without Dareus in the lineup. Charles needs to step up.
Fadingpain Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 Catching the Colts in Week 1 is a blessing. Rex is going to throw every trick in his repertoire and the kitchen sink at Luck...and there will be no game film for the Colts to review. I am hoping we can give Luck one of his worst games as a pro!

Bills 24 Colts 23
