Putin "is a gangster. He is basically an organized crime figure." Average American voter gets that. -- Sen. Rubio

Trump tries to smack Carly, audience unhappy.

Rand Paul, strong on economics, but his committed Isolationism is difficult to take.

If a candidate started their next answer with "The first step is to get John Kasich off this stage" the crowd will give them ten minutes of applause....

Paul is the only candidate who conveys traditional conservative values of non-intervention and fiscal restraint. I am looking forward to him having more air time. The others are pretty much neocon talking heads

It's a little disheartening that he hasn't picked up more support. Looks like flair trumps substance in Obama's America.

you're probably right. he's the brightest and most candid guy on the stage. that's not what this audience wants.

well they're pooping pretty stinky on kasich. must not be a friend of fox execs.

I always liked Kasich when he filled in for the Leprechaun (back when I used to watch cable news) and even though I have no idea what his positions are, the fact that every left-wing Obama loving socialist I know likes him tells me he sucks. Edited by Rob's House

Get kasich off the stage already. Take Bush with him.

Fiorina having a strong night.

I like a lot of what Paul says but he's too weak on the military and national defense with his isolationist stance.

Trump and Carson are probably still at the top they haven't really changed their position one way or the other.

Cruz having a solid night.

Cruz and Rubio, strong answers on Dodd- Frank

Audience has caught up to us at home and is now booing Kasich

It's over.

A good, solid, substantive debate about policy................that's not as entertaining (to the media and the rest of the left)

Best.......Cruz and Rubio

Next........Carson and Fiorina

then the rest

Some in the media were itching to write "Jeb comeback" stories. Not enough progress on the stage to justify it

I do have this image of John Kasich as Mortimer Duke shouting "turn those machines back on!"

Memo to Ted Cruz, using the Fed as a lender of last resort for Bank of America ...is a bailout.

Media complaining the debate wasn't entertaining enough, says everything about modern media.

See, they want Republicans being hit with gotcha questions. This was substantial policy, so they got nothing.

bush sucks. terrible, as trump would say with a new jersey accent. but at least he's real. carson says he talked to several generals about the middle east. westmoreland maybe? now trump has talked to generals. wow. the generals really like these guys. florina should sue her plastic surgeon.

Retired generals. I don't doubt that candidates hire retired general or flag officers as consultants.

The good thing about a substantive debate like this is it really showed Trump's true buffoonery.

I thought Rubio definitely helped himself, as did Fiorina, who would probably get better press if the media and progressives weren't so inclined to spend their time mocking her looks. She did a great job turning the phrase "take our country back" to "take our government back," which is important because the SoProgs, who love to enslave their constituents through government dependency, love to argue that "take our country back" is extreme right dog whistle code for returning to the days of slavery.

Kasich is the new Huntsman, so no surprise the SoProgs use him as their way to somehow pretend they are open minded.

Overall you'll be hard pressed to get such a substantive debate from the left, which is bad for Hillary since these debates are genuinely honing the debate skills of the ultimate GOP candidate while Hillary cackles at people who question her about anything serious.

I also think Michael Bay doing a movie on Benghazi is going to hurt the left. A lot.

Why when they were talking about bank failure and protecting depositers was the FDIC not mentioned? Seemed like the obvious answer to me. Depositers are insured. The bank itself is not.

Also, I thought the earlier debate was good. 4 participants is about the right number.

ok then. trumps wig man should be sued.

Who cares about looks and hair when we are spiraling into out of control debt, have foreign policy disasters one after the other, more racial tension than ever and over 11 million illegal invaders in this country.

Yes let's worry what candidates look like. If people were genuinely concerned with that the democrats would have a different front runner.
