Patrick Kane--sexual assault allegations--

That's all I am ranting about. It's terrible. He can't keep his alleged d**k in his pants... Then allegedly he goes for the one he can't have, slut shame... WTF.

It's hard rooting for him, because then the lady is lying AND sought medical help ASAP. What does that do to legit victims out there that get shamed by their accused? :-( :-(

It's hard rooting for her, because then Kane becomes Mercury Morris, Rae Carruth, or Mike Tyson.

This is so tragic, it is sickeningly sad.

I am not really sure how it will play out. ?? What a waste of a human being for putting himself into this situation because he can control his ALLEGED hormones. 26 year old hormones too boot... Go figure. The burden is clearly on him. Agree to disagree if some must.

Then on top of it, he sets himself up as punk a few months earlier @ The Cup rally when he takes umbrage to Pat Foley saying: "You grew up before our eyes." Kane is like: "Watch what I can do""

What a jerk!

Very well said

I don't think many people would categorize Mercury Morris (doing time for drugs 30 or more years ago) along with murderer Carruth and rapist Tyson (and if convicted - Kane)

Yeah... Maybe. But who else can you compare this situation to? Kobe? Different set of circumstances it appears there. Kane is literally @ the top of the game, in his prime, ultimate hockey superstar, number one pick, that has the potential to do heavy time, locked away for along time. All the praise hockey gets for being the game w/such great, wholesome players over say a villified game of hoods and thugs like basketball... This happens. This is like Joe Montana or Derek Jeter in their prime staring @ heavy time in the crapper. Heck, like Peyton Manning or Wayne Gretzky looking @ doing serious time, again while in their prime and top of the game. Not a good and becoming position that HE solely put himself into.

Ah... Anyway, it is just an allegation. Dude is a dirtball w/a track record. I was hoping to see him someday in the blue & gold... Not after this, 3 strikes and you are out. 2nd strike up in Wisconsin drunk and passed out was more like "caught looking."

Usually, I will agree w/you bbb... But this time, IMO you are swinging @ air too. Maybe they will protect him for the sake of the game. I wonder what the 'Hawks and NHL will do even if he skates. Will he skate these allegations? Puns very much intended. Do you see him being humbled if he did skate? Or more insolent? Maybe he will be humbled, I am not counting on it. It disgusts me, the insolent behavior.

What are you disagreeing with? I can't stand Kane. You're the one who calls him the Mayor of Dangleville, and have heaped other praises on him for years.

And, FireChan is right - Kobe is exactly it. (Although hockey is not nearly as big across the country)

I found this breakdown helpful. Explains why it can take so long. Could be months, if not well into next year.

bbb, and Chan... FWIW, Kobe was different in that it can be implied better that she was coming back to his room for "you know what." I know that, it is simply wrong to ever imply that sex was going to take place. Every year @ work we get indoctrinated w/sexual harassment training... Army's "SHARP." By implying that about sexual activity, it is simply unfair to woman (or whoever). In the Kane situation, it is more of a stretch given that the victim was NOT the one hanging all over Kane (or @ least what we are UNofficially told). Kane's situation appears to be more gievous than the Kobe situation, IF the facts do match up w/what is being said. Maybe time will marginalize things.

But... The driver is a high ranking police officer. Nothing like having the cops in your pocket.

I know, it is perfectly legal... IMO, I think it creates a conflict. Then factor in the entitlement factor. Kane can act like a total creep... "Don't worry, I got the police in my pocket and on the payroll."

An Lt. moonlighting? Like his children are struggling getting through college. On an Lt. civil servant pay? Maybe... But, moonlight @ Walmart or some place. Again, I think it creates an ethical dilemma that needs to be addressed. He's a civil servant first, steward to all taxpayers before he is Kane's personal driver and "clout" to get him (Kane) out of jams. The Kane's did a hell of job finding the right person. The job search probably went:

1. Cab driver: Hell no!

2. Moonlighting cop: Hey, that's the ticket!

If only Teddy Kennedy had a cop to get him outta that little jam... Oh wait...

The egregious mixing of public & private... That's what people take umbrage with.

I know a LT in the Buffalo Police force & he makes well over $100 grand per year with overtime. Believe it or not the police force in Buffalo & the surrounding suburbs are one of the highest paid police forces in the country. Go down south & the police forces are not making half that salary. + they get a decent pension after 20 years of service. Not that I would want to do it in Buffalo but not a bad gig if you could get a job in some of the safer burbs around Buffalo like Amherst/Lancaster/Hamburgh etc....

One of the reasons why New York, Illinois, et al are in trouble. Fat cat pensions (I know these are rank and file guys, yet how rank and file is an Lt?) and ontop of it they are moonlighting, taking personal leave to work those jobs, and have an "in" w/the system so they can curry favor among the the people they moonlight for. Of course, it is all legal, or appears to be legal. You wonder why things are upside down financially with some of these states. It's unsustainable.

You have this case that Kane put himself soley into and then it goes deeper into a lot of ethical questions. Kane had his "fall guy." The system! He may be a dummy w/his d**k finding a way out of his pants, but Knae after the last cabbie scrape seems to have people on the "inside." Wow, ain't that a shock?

FWIW, I heard yesterday that the girl was offered a $6M settlement and turned it down.

Wow! I've heard rumors that her father is in the mob, doesn't need the money, she's so distraught no settlement would do, etc.

But, turning down that much - that means business.

Father in the mob can't really be good news for Kane, can it?

I mentioned earlier the story that came out on why The 'Hawks dumped Denis Savard early on in favor of Coach Q. Kane acting like a rookie punk on the bench was too much for a classy guy like Savard... He then lost it w/the young, talented, superstar laiden team which in turn lost the team for him.

This whole situation? A Little foreshadowing like that crow in The Godfather clip that Corp000085 just posted?
