John from Riverside Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 I dont think this started happening immediately but am just taking notice of it now - Periodically I noticed that the the little "HDMI" notice of what type of connection the TV has would pop up at the corner of my tv.......but the signal wasnt lost and movie kept playing with no distruption so I took no notice of it - I turned on my TV last night and now my tv wont keep its signal........screen goes to black and says "no signal" .....not the Direct TV notice of no signal but the tv notice of no signal. - I mess with the direct TV box pressing the reset button......pressing the guide button on the main box....etc etc......things will come up on the TV for a few moments then it will go back to the black screen saying no signal. Any thoughts?
Wooderson Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 HDMI cable loose on TV or box? Probably not, but maybe worth a look.
Beerball Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 Possibly FBI or Treasury keeping an eye on you. Remote chance it's Homeland Security.

Any thoughts? Yes...mine doesn't go black it turns to blue.... take the remote hit the input button...scroll down to the HDMI2 and choose it...it should restore. Mine does this all the time. Thank heavens it did it the first time when the 30 year old tech savvy son was home. Edited August 5, 2015 by CowgirlsFan

26CornerBlitz Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 Loose connection or bad cable could be the culprit.
The Poojer Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 when you are watching it, do you see a bowl of spaghetti-o's slowly turning around?

Nervous Guy Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 John, did you try physically disconnecting the satellite in cable, unplugging the box, reattached cable and plug it back it? Weird as it sounds that is different than just doing the reset.
The Real Buffalo Joe Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 Used to work for Dish. It's either a bad HDMI cable, or a bad port on the TV or box. Try unplugging the HDMI, and plugging it into another port. If that doesn't fix it, get a new HDMI. If that doesn't fix it, its a bad box.
