3rdand12 Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 I'm starting to think it will be Taylor that starts but I'm still looking for EJ to keep progressing like the past few days. Meh has little chance since he adds no X factor in his game, IMO. I am picking EJ. but i hope TT just keeps improving too. Simms gets PS right? Cassel reminisces for holding Tommy's jock* OK - I get it - we'll be playing lights-out D, and have a strong running game...but do we do we really need just a conservative, pocket passing "game manager", or do we need a QB who can convert some third downs by whatever means available, seal some wins, all while getting better in the process? Honestly, I'm looking at the Bills right now, and if this team isn't the second coming of Seattle, there never will be one, and I can't think of a better team to emulate. Tyrod is our Russell Wilson - similar skill set, and ability to get better as he plays without having to carry the team. And we have an OC who knows how to take advantage of these Kaepernick-type skills. And a HC who has lusted after Tyrod for a while now. Add in the fact that Tyrod has had a strong training camp thus far - it's arguable who has performed best, but given Tyrod has the fewest starts among the three competitors, if he's even close, he has the most upside to improve as he gets more starts under his belt. Honestly, the more I think about it, we'd be stupid NOT to start Taylor, and roll with him as long as he does not face plant in the preseason or early season games. Somebody please tell me if there's a flaw in my logic here.... oh some one will.... i see your point , but upside is something for the coaches to decipher. not me or you. no insult meant
truth on hold Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 With no one separating themself my bet now is they find some comfort in the vet cassell
YoloinOhio Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 With no one separating themself my bet now is they find some comfort in the vet cassellhe is like a binky. Smh.
BUFFALOKIE Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 Cassel will be the first released. Thinking he is the vet and should look better then the other two QBs. You want the most reps in middle and end of TC... Beginning might be a test to see if he can either be the vet and come out doing well or fail. It would clear up more money in the cap for Whaley to sign Dareus. Taylor will end up starting for the Bills, his running ability will be the difference between him and EJ. All four QBs are vets.
Pete Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 (edited) Cassel has the most to lose IMO. He could start or he could be cut. WIth his salary, there will be carry over next year to sign Dareus. EJ starting, with Tyrod backing up, and Simm the third QB- and $ to resign Dareus sooner then later sounds good to me. Cassel is competing for a spot on the roster IMO Edited August 9, 2015 by Pete
KellyToTasker Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 (edited) I'm wondering who gets the start in the 3rd preseason game. My guess, it's the one they need to see the most from to make their decision. Matt Cassel, they know exactly who he is.....So he has the 1st start. I'm thinking EJ starts against the Browns and Tyron starts in the rehearsal (game 3). Edited August 9, 2015 by KellyToTasker
K D Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 Cassel better have a heck of a game vs the Panthers or I think he is put on the backburner and they let EJ and Tyrod battle it out. If it ends up both of those guys outplaying Cassel then he won't even make this team. Right now, it really looks like it's going to be Tyrod because in a preseason setting he's going to do things that are going to wow people. He knows how to improvise when there is a busted play for example, aka the types of things that are much more likely to happen in the preseason than the regular season. However, I think if he wins the job then he will get injured eventually, especially if they plan on running the read option with him. He's very tiny. It's alarming when you see how small he is in person or standing next to the other QB's. So I'm changing my vote to Tyrod. If he limits his mistakes and continues to make the wow plays then he will win the job
Kirby Jackson Posted August 15, 2015 Author Posted August 15, 2015 (edited) I figured that it is time to bump this back up. Instead of re-doing the thread I guess that it is just easiest to alter your vote if you feel necessary (unless someone disagrees and we can start a new thread).
