YoloinOhio Posted July 29, 2015 Author Posted July 29, 2015 @RapSheet: Former #Colts OL Gosder Cherilus is visiting the #Bills today, source said. Would fill a need quickly.
NoSaint Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 could be a good get. safe to assume hed be getting low level starter compensation and the day 1 favorite, or has he fallen to depth/league min type of player?
YoloinOhio Posted July 29, 2015 Author Posted July 29, 2015 Last 3 yrs - 45 starts, 2 holds, 13 sacks @HolderStephen: Updated story on Cherilus: Apparently, he's ready to return to the field. Also, Colts not ruling out re-signing him http://t.co/yDYmqeyIe5
C.Biscuit97 Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 Very similar to Cassel. Good veteran depth and leadership. If he's starting, your young guys failed and it's not a great situation. Love him as a backup. He's better than Wayne Hunter. In years past, he would have signed a big deal to be our starter.

thebandit27 Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 (edited) The PFF crazies are going to have a meltdown if this guy starts: Name Age Pos 2014 Team 2015 Team Rating Snaps Gosder Cherlius 31 OT IND CUT -16.8 975 https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2014/12/25/2015-free-agents-offensive-tackles/ Edited July 29, 2015 by thebandit27

I don't expect him to compete for a starting job, but he's the vet depth we need right now. Not much to choose from.

Nor do I...and actually he's passable as a fill-in RT. His lackluster play with Indy was more a result of injury issues than anything else IMO. That said, his $7M/year contract was just another shining example of Ryan Grigson's genius as a GM. Edited July 29, 2015 by thebandit27
John from Riverside Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 Did we let Chris WIllaims go so that we could sign him?
C.Biscuit97 Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 Can't believe I didn't think about this at first. We play the Colts in the opener. Nice to bring in a former starter to get a little insight in their strategy.
billsfan89 Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 Seems like a good idea to kick the tires on this guy.

26CornerBlitz Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 @PFF Don't be surprised by the Colts releasing Gosder Cherilus, only 12 OTs had a worse grade in pass protection in 2014.

26CornerBlitz Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 Wasnt he injured? Knee, Shoulder, and Groin IIRC.
GG Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 @PFF Don't be surprised by the Colts releasing Gosder Cherilus, only 12 OTs had a worse grade in pass protection in 2014. Was Henderson one of the 12?
RyanC883 Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 I'm for it. If they can get him near the vet-min, he helps solidify a position of need. What are we down to, 4 actual OT's at this point?
Johnny Hammersticks Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 Was Henderson one of the 12? First or second to last IIRC
