Willyville Guy
Interesting article in the New York Times yesterday about Saban's interest in the Texas job in 2013. This story captivated college football fans a couple of years ago -- given Saban's history of jumping ship along with Texas's desire and resources to return to prominence. My sense at the time was that there was a lot more smoke than fire, but the Times piece says the move was closer to happening than I thought. Cynical
I never had a doubt he was staying. I also think Saban leaving was nowhere close to happening as this story seems to imply. IMO, the article muddies the timeline, and the reporter left out details either through laziness, ignorance, or flat out bias.

Cynical
@BryanDFischer: Very interesting note from @FootballScoop on Nick Saban and Alabama: http://t.co/cFmvAFyTMNhttp://t.co/GIhOCYuqPn "I can’t support it by reportable facts, and of course there is no pressure from the administration; ..." So, based on unverified rumors and 100% speculation, Saban is gone after 2015. Got it. I have been hearing about Saban leaving Bama from the day he first signed on. "He never stayed at one place for more than 5 years. He is good as gone." The rhetoric has increased the past 3-4 years. He is now entering his 9th season as HC of the Crimson Tide. Someday, SOMEDAY, these people will be right. He will be 64 when the season ends. I'm sure the lure of retirement is getting stronger. Yes, the end of the 2015 season could be it. If it is, Thank You, Nick Saban. The ride has been glorious, 3 NC in 4 years. The 2nd one vs. LSU was a !@#$ing masterpiece. That defensive performance will go down as one of the most dominant in the history of college football.
