Rob's House
We're at a point now to where the reaction to unpopular or "racist" speech is worse than the speech itself. Just today I heard that WWE is wiping Hulk Hogan from its history, for a comment made in private that came to light, and Colin Cowherd has been fired by ESPN & denounced by MLB for suggesting it would be reasonable to assume players coming from the Dominican Republic may not be terribly familiar with the rules. This is just in one day. This issue is snowballing and it's getting to a dangerous point where the speech and thought police are great in number and harsh in enforcement. Make sure not to say or think anything that could be offensive to anyone or you may be next.

B-Man
Your sweater, you fat bastard. C'mon Tom. I love Jackie. MILO YIANNOPOULOS: Minority Wars: Why The Next Ten Years Will Set Everyone Against Everyone. Democratic presidential candidates Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Martin O’Malley came face to face with the tragic state of American progressivism last week, when an 11,000-strong rally of progressive activists was disrupted by #BlackLivesMatter protesters. Activists marched into the room chanting protest songs before taking the stage in front of a bemused O’Malley to demand concrete commitments on police violence. Never mind that O’Malley and Sanders are, among presidential candidates, by far the most sympathetic to the concerns of the Black Lives Matter movement: because they’re white, they cannot be trusted, and deserve to have whatever they’re talking about shoved off the agenda by thugs with placards. It may sound racist and bizarre to be suspicious of candidates like Sanders and O’Malley on the basis of their ethnicity alone, but when you consider the primacy of identity politics in the progressive movement today, it really isn’t that surprising. Since the 1970s, social psychologists have been aware that emphasising differences between groups leads to mistrust and hostility. In a series of landmark experiments, the psychologist Henri Tajfel found that even wearing different-coloured shirts was enough for groups to begin displaying signs of mistrust. So guess what happens when you tell everyone that their worth, their ability, their right to speak on certain subjects and – shudder – their “privilege” is based on what they were born with, rather than any choices they’ve made or who they are? So long as there is power in dividing people, demagogues will divide people. .

Make sure not to say or think anything that could be offensive to anyone or you may be next. That can't be true. Liberals care deeply about diversity. We all know that real diversity is found in a person's character - their values, their beliefs, their ideas. They don't base diversity on skin color or ethnicity - that would be way too superficial a means of categorizing people. There's no way that they would ever stoop to attempting to cleanse our culture or society of such things.
Magox
I read what cowherd said three times, he wasn't speaking to their intellegence but their academic acumen. This is PC gone wild.
unbillievable
I was listening to Cowherd live as he did his tirade against baseball. I didn't think (at the time) that he said anything wrong. But, he did pause for a second during his example knowing that if he didn't phrase it correctly, people would get offended. It didn't work. Personally, I found the original premise (that baseball is a thinking man's game), as offensive as cowherd's rebuttal. Fans were trying to say that baseball players, and managers, had to be highly educated in physics, calculus, geometry, statistics, etc to be successful. Cowherd pointed out that players from the Dominican Republic who grew up in poor neighborhoods without proper schooling were dominating the sport. Made perfect sense when he said it. This is just one of those times when people are offended by the truth.

IDBillzFan
It's amazing to me how aggressive everyone right now...wiping out history as if to make something disappear while threatening everyone to silence. Most interesting is how we got here on the watch of the first black president. Something tells me if we elect Hillary, ain't nobody gettin' laid. Magox
The latest in PC The Connecticut Democratic Party quietly voted Wednesday night to remove references to iconic former Presidents Thomas Jefferson and Andrew Jackson from the name of its annual fundraising dinner due to their links to slavery and the mistreatment of Native Americans. "Let's work together to show the rest of the state exactly what it means to be a Connecticut Democrat,'’ said freshman party Chairman Nick Balletto, according to the Hartford Courant, before introducing the resolution to rename the Jefferson-Jackson-Bailey Dinner. You had to upgrade to a macro aggression, didn't you? While I tend to defer to being kind, so being reasonable sensitive to items that might upset people, I still on a regular basis can't keep up with the PC crowd and say things that honk people off. It's become ridiculous, people go out of their way to identify any possible thing to harp on. Some dildo told me not too long ago I said somethign that was a micro aggression against Mens Rights. I can't recall what is was, but I asked him what Male kitty would be offended by what i said.... The conversation was bizarre. What unnerves me most, a movie like Revenge of the Nerds would be hard pressed to made today in the PC environment...

B-Man
Boy Scouts End Ban on Gay Scoutmasters: LGBT Groups Not Satisfied Unless Religious Liberty Is Trampled To no one’s surprise, this happened:http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/boy-scouts-gay-adults-ban_55b6af21e4b0a13f9d19d9d0? The Boy Scouts of America voted Monday to lift a long-established ban on gay adults as employees and volunteers within the organization. The BSA’s full executive board voted 45 to 12 in favor of the change, effective immediately. The vote came after the National Executive Committee unanimously approved a resolution earlier this month stating that “no adult applicant for registration as an employee or non-unit-serving volunteer, who otherwise meets the requirements of the Boy Scouts of America, may be denied registration on the basis of sexual orientation.” The Scouts, however, included a necessary exemption for church-sponsored troops — allowing them to set their own policies. This displeased the lords of political correctness. Here’s the Human Rights Campaign’s Chad Griffin: Including an exemption for troops sponsored by religious organizations undermines and diminishes the historic nature of today’s decision. Discrimination should have no place in the Boy Scouts, period. Yet if the church-sponsored troops pull out of scouting, the BSA would collapse. In many jurisdictions — including scouting’s most healthy and vibrant — church-sponsored groups dominate. I know of multiple local troops that would sooner close shop (or explore alternative affiliations) than violate their deeply-held values. But the HRC and the rest of the LGBT Left doesn’t care. It would rather destroy scouting than see it maintain its culturally and religiously conservative heritage. Already the Mormon church — which is heavily involved in the scouting community — is expressing concern: The Mormon church quickly issued a statement saying that it was “deeply troubled” by the vote and that its “century-long association with Scouting will need to be examined.” “The Church has always welcomed all boys to its Scouting units regardless of sexual orientation,” the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints statement said. “However, the admission of openly gay leaders is inconsistent with the doctrines of the Church and what have traditionally been the values of the Boy Scouts of America.” Liberalizing socially conservative organizations is a great way to shrink them to irrelevance. Just ask the vanishing Protestant Mainline. But the goal here was never to help the Boy Scouts of America but rather to send scouts the same cultural signal the sexual revolutionaries send to the rest of America: Join . . . or else.
