  1. 1. Your own personal team aside, which overall sport are you a bigger fan of?

Every time I've tried watching it, it's been 30 seconds of punching/kicking, then 2:50 of two guys on the ground holding each other. I'm not going the uninformed "It's just gay porn" route. I understand what they're doing and respect them as athletes. But from a spectator's point of view, it's boring as hell to watch.

...and looks like gay porn.

Urban has to be thinking this is fantastic... Keep going down so the team feels like an underdog?

@RJinVegas: Effect of #OhioState suspensions: OSU was -12.5 vs Virginia Tech this morning; now down to -10 (via Pinnacle)

What's the story with the suspensions? This can't be Urban's doing. He hates suspending players.

He does? Hasn't been the case to my knowledge here. He suspends guys often, these are just high profile. It was violation of team rules. Weed and missed class. Edited by YoloinOhio

Maybe he has become stricter but it was thought he ran a real loose ship at Florida. Harvin (reportedly) attacked a coach at Florida and nothing really happened. http://espn.go.com/blog/nflnation/post/_/id/145402/percy-harvins-long-list-of-troubles-from-high-school-to-seattle

Meyer is a great coach though. And if you got suspended for missing classes and smoking week, I would have missed my entire college career. :)

Meyer is a great coach thought.

he is much more strict than Tressel was. I didn't follow Florida much when he was there, so not sure. He really loves Harvin though. Actually brought him up at big 10 media day today. Said he is the most dynamic athlete he's ever had. Edited by YoloinOhio

Personally, I thought Tressel got a bad rap. The whole tattoo thing was a joke. And it's harder to suspend dynamic players. Even if they beat up a coach. :)

in Tress's case, it was similar to Brady. The cover up was worse than the crime. He lied to the NCAA and they hammered him for it. He didn't want to suspend his players for the Sugar Bowl, who he covered for. He was afraid he couldn't beat the SEC without them. Urban doesn't really have that fear, for better or for worse. He always thinks he has the best players, all the way down the bench.

The rule was stupid, but the players were too. Tress didn't run a very tight ship. Though I love the guy.

Ah, good post. Tressel's sweater vests were pimp.

I say I like both equally. Nothing like watching a Notre Dame Fighting Irish game on a Saturday..... well..... until I get to watch a Buffalo Bills game on a Sunday.

It's just not even close. The speed and talent on display at the elite level makes college football seem like watching traffic on I95 versus Indy car racing. The difference is incredible

It's like that in all sports. It's even worse in basketball. The level of talent between gap between the YMCA & D1 is as close as the gap between D1 & the NBA. The "one and done" has a lot to do with it.

With that being said I would still rather watch a big college game than a big NFL game (obviously excluding the Bills).
