Had to do with the explosive nature of gasoline fumes, vapour being more than that of TNT; was like a gallon of fuel and then the vapour if settings were right- warm day, equal to 4 sticks of TNT, but you're going from memory here. Much safer. yeah but how else do we weed out the Darwin Award recipients? gas will suffice, you just need a proper ignition method. "gas fuse" or road flare.
