This was on something like science of stupid, or similar title. Had to do with the explosive nature of gasoline fumes, vapour being more than that of TNT; was like a gallon of fuel and then the vapour if settings were right- warm day, equal to 4 sticks of TNT, but you're going from memory here.

If you ever do something like this, mix half diesel, half gasoline and half motor oil. Then throw a flare in to it or make a long line with gasoline to act as a fuse. Much safer.

This was my first thought as well. The gasoline fuse technique seems like a no brainer here...

yeah but how else do we weed out the Darwin Award recipients?

 

gas will suffice, you just need a proper ignition method. "gas fuse" or road flare.
