birdog1960
The Koran's a classic? Then how about the Bible? absolutely. required reading. The Koran's a classic? Then how about the Bible? And if I can read Attic Greek, how am I not higher information that someone who's monolingual and can only read Xenophon in translation? you didn't ask if you're higher information, you asked if it was classic. i'm not comfortable as the arbiter of all things classic but i'll play along. DC Tom
absolutely. required reading. So all those Bible-belt Republicans you accuse of being low-information voters are actually high-information voters? you didn't ask if you're higher information, you asked if it was classic. i'm not comfortable as the arbiter of all things classic but i'll play along. No, I did ask if I were higher information for reading it in Greek. You want to be higher information? Learn to read !@#$ing internet posts. Then maybe try the classics. Chef Jim
read the thread. or seeking the truth = educated = classics = "high information". unless you are demented, delirious or otherwise impaired. which are you? So what proof do you have that seeking the truth (what the !@#$??) + educated + classics = they have any !@#$ing clue with regard to the political issues that face our county today. So unless you have a better arguement other than book smart = well informed on the issues that challenge us from a political standpoint on a day to day basis you appear to be the demented, delirious or impaired one. Do you not see that you are being mocked for your "classics" statement? Being formally educated to the nth degree, reading MIss Manners and knowing the classics can be a real plus, but it means jack schit in the boarding house at mealtime. As a conservative, I hold true to my beliefs but always question and consider other opinions. Some opposite opinions get a rejection in about three seconds while others get a thorough look see. I'm not against changing my mind on something but there had better be a compelling reason to do so. Liberal arguments usually consist of "feelings" and pie-in-the-sky theories. We conservatives sorta "think" instead of "feel" and have no sympathy for those people that do otherwise.
