If I were Hillary, I'd keep an eye on Carly. Watch the video at the bottom of this link with Fiorina talking to Jake Tapper. She's terrific and completely turns everything on Hillary like a pro.

Don't be surprised if you hear Hillary swinging back at Carly...and that would be her first mistake. Fiorina would destroy Clinton in any measured kind of debate.

I'm glad she eventually answered the question posed to her. I was thinking she was coming across as just another politician dodging a question.

You've always voted against the lesser of two evils?

Yep, from my point of view, anyway. I don't trust any of them, and I'm sick to death of career politicians. Over the years I've found myself leaning to the right when compared with most people, but that's as much a consequence of the democrats moving so far to the left over the last several decades as it is my values evolving as I age. I pretty much go into the voting booth thinking 'this person would suck as president, but this person is really gonna suck', and vote accordingly.

So if I'm understanding you correctly, you misspoke, right?

That you actually vote FOR the lesser of two evils.

So you vote for the person who is really going to suck?

Ugh. I should wait until I wake up a little more before posting in the morning. You apparently understood what I was saying better than I did.

Yes, I meant to say that I vote for the lesser of two evils.

Good grief. :bag:

I was trying to make heads or tails of what you were saying, I suspected that's what you were trying to say but wasn't sure if it was some sort of hybrid version of TYTT's inane reasoning to why he votes against his best interests or what.

I don't vote against my best interests. I'm not represented, so I vote against your best interests.

What horse in the lineup for the GOP gets your vote? Better question, is there one?

As of right now, I could cast a ballot for either Rand Paul or Gary Johnson, should he get into the race.

You were quite literally understanding my own words better than I was.

At this point in the process, I never really have a 'favorite', but of the entire field of republicans who've announced their candidacy, the ones who stand out the most with me are the three who've not held public office - Fiorina, Trump, and Carson. Fiorina sounds pretty sharp when she speaks, but she sounds the most like a politician of the three. Carson stands out to me for his intellect and sincerity. Trump stands out because he's upsetting an apple cart that I believe really needs to be upset.

There are a few among the remaining republicans that I like (Kasich in particular), but once again, I'll be going to the polls to vote against whoever the democrat nominee turns out to be.

Hillaries Unfavorability ratings are through the roof, not to mention that she is getting trounced by the three candidates in three very important states, who I happen to believe are in the best position to beat her in the general elections.

It'll be interesting to see how she reacts to this. It will most certainly require her to speak publicly more often, and let's be honest...every time she speaks, the numbers get worse.

Meanwhile, the image at Drudge of her campaign logo with the arrow pointing down is pretty funny.

I like Kasich. Out of all the candidates, he has the most impressive track record. His record in congress being the point man to crafting a budget that was involved in four straight balanced budgets. His executive experience record as governor in the important state of Ohio is also impressive.

Having said that, his positions will be an anathema to the right wing base. He supports common core, he expanded Medicaid which somehow will be interpreted as him being an Obamacare lover, he supports comprehensive immigration reform and he is bringing back "compassionate conservatism" as a campaign theme.

I'm not overly ideological, what matters to me more than anything is command in policy and track record. Ideally, Jeb, Kasich and then Walker fit that bill more than any of the other candidates, even though Rubio's knowledge on policy is impressive. Walker has a good track record but I do think he is behind vs. these other candidates in understanding policy. But, he's appealing because he along with Rubio even though I'd give the edge to Walker can meld and rev up both the establishment and right wing base to turn out for the elections more so than the rest. However, Rubio would get considerably more Latino voters than Walker and probably would do better with female and younger voters. These two certainly would get higher Republican turnout than Romney. Not so sure Kasich and Jeb could do much better among GOP voters than Romney.

They will say a couple things, that A) other national polls show her leading and B) that it's natural once you become the front runner that people begin to view you more with suspicion.

Then she'll go on to do a few more staged townhalls and play the gender card.

As an aside, here is one problem with the people running the left: flat-out dishonesty to further a cause.

In this article at The Hill by DailyKos nutbag Markos Moulitsas, he argues that the problem with the Democratic party is it's not doing a good enough job pushing the important populist liberal priorities.

Try to spot the embarrassing bit of slander in the paragraph below that should immediately get a retraction from The Hill.

At least Sanders wasn’t as tone-deaf as Martin O’Malley, who responded to protesters by saying “Black lives matter. White lives matter. All lives matter.” Of course all lives matter, but it’s not whites currently under siege. It was breathtaking to see how unprepared Sanders and O’Malley were in addressing an issue that has gripped the progressive movement since Michael Brown’s murder in Ferguson, Mo., nearly a year ago.

Aside from Hillaries vulnerabilities and there are many, the best thing that could have happened for GOP candidates is the fact that despite all the media attention in how far the Repubs have moved to the right over the past few years, the Democrats have moved just as much to the left. In order to have a similar coalition of voters as Obama had, she's going to have to prove and run she is just as if not more to the left as Obama is and Bernie Sanders is going to make sure she does that.

That's a big net plus for the GOP.

Looks like Stephen A Smith didn't get the talking points memo.

Good for him.

By force? That's your number one desired way to deal with Iran?

AND a border fence? (Which we can't afford nor build without illegal immigrant labor btw -- IRONY!)

Yeah, nether of these things are going to happen.

I'm fine with using illegals to build the wall/fence. Heck, use 100% illegals for the manual labor for all I care. It's like when you take a man out into the woods to execute him, you would make him dig his own grave. You don't dig it for him out of spite.

I'm also okay with Trump making it a wall/casino. Fill the wall with slot machines so that the player faces Mexico when playing. If granny spots an illegal trying to sneak in, she gets bonus points on her machine. This will also make retired people useful and give them dignity.

I'm sure there are all sorts of creative ways to get the wall done. It just takes some American ingenuity. I'm interested to see how Trump would get it accomplished.

In fairness, he did make $100M off the sale of Current TV to Al Jazeera.

That's only if he and Hyatt prevail in the lawsuit to release $65 million escrows that Al Jazeera is holding up.
