Good luck with the quest, Don Quixote. I'm sure you apply that perfectionist standard to all the facets in your life.

In all the other facets of my life I'm not presented with a false choice dillema by individuals seeking to marginalize me, and at the same time use me.

As always, I encourage all libertarian leaning individuals to do exactly the same.

I take it you're not married.

The vast majority of libertarians I know stick with their convictions on election day and vote the party ticket, and don't undermine their cause in a hissy fit.

What policy put him back on the street exactly? I'm a bit ignorant as to why he was let go when he was arrested.

http://www.sfgate.com/politics/article/San-Francisco-Sanctuary-City-Gone-Awry-2481280.php

FTA:

San Francisco's political establishment has long prided itself on providing a haven for illegal immigrants. Mayor Gavin Newsom even launched a taxpayer-funded $83,000 "public awareness campaign" earlier this year assuring illegal immigrants that the "sanctuary city" by the bay was in their court.

And indeed it is. Under the city's 1989 voter-approved sanctuary ordinance, police officers and other city employees are prohibited from inquiring into immigration status. In addition, the city will not direct municipal funds or employees towards assisting federal immigration enforcement, unless such assistance is required by federal or state law or a warrant.

Happily married, thanks. One of the main reasons is because we don't try to marginalize or use each other.

And it sounds like the folks you know are content to be used, rather than represented. That's their prerogative. As for me, the Republicans will let me know when they want my vote.

As it is with me in every election cycle, unless and until the Republican Party nominates a candidate with strong libertarian credentials, I'll be voting Democrat. If the presumptive Democtratic nominee at this point is Sanders, and with both Republican candidates having no libertarian bent, Bernie Sanders gets my vote.

That's just brilliant, vote for Obama on steroids. That should work out well.

Give me, and others with similar views, a candidate who represents us; otherwise we'll do more damage to your cause than simply not turning up. We'll show up in droves, and we'll pull the lever for the other guy.

The ball is in your court, Republicans.

And even if you build this massive wall, how will you protect the 2,000 of the Gulf coast line?

Divert funds currently earmarked for foreign aid to provide free cell phones to all of our Mexican "friends." Make sure we have a network of cell towers on the US side of the border, and along the Gulf coastline, that are robust enough to send and receive signals quite a few miles into Mexican territory and the Gulf. Re-task some N$A resources that have been used to track US citizens to track all of our Mexican "friends" who move within range of the robust cell tower network. Make the cell phone gift to Canada as well, as a North American initiative, to deflect suspicion. Promoting the North American cyber economy, or whatever.

You know the demographics of the likely illegal immigrants will make many of them Facebook users, so persuade Mark Zuckerberg to pony up part of the upfront costs. Maybe throw in a few bucks from the guy who gets "Angry Birds" royalties.

That's gotta cost the American taxpayers, net, less than an actual wall, and unlike a wall, lets you track the incoming horde in real time. Let each state figure out how to deal with the illegal immigrants once they've been located IF they try to illegally enter the US.

Make sure that adverse consequences suffered by those who are "located" are widely publicized in Mexico. Heck, you could even use the very same cell phones for that purpose, as long as such publicity was included (i.e., hidden) in a flow of other information. Keep our "friends" in the dark about how they were located by creating a plausible cover story. If we could fool the German war machine in WWII about our breaking of Enigma coded messages, we certainly ought to be able to fool unorganized immigrants. Let a few cell phone packin' friends get in, just to further hide what's really happening (just like some Enigma-based intelligence was not used in order to protect the secrecy of the successful Enigma code breaking).

We put a man on the moon in a decade. We can get this done.

Next problem?

This is an article from Matt Walsh with the Blaze. He is certainly a man of the right, not what some of you would call a mushy RHINO. If you've read his stuff, which I happen to disagree with more than a few of his positions, then you'd know what I'm talking about.

Anyhoo, here is his piece from yesterday regarding Trump.

To Trump Disciples: Youre Embarrassing Conservatism and Yourselves

You should read the comment section from this article. Holy ****! These people who have been fans of Matt Walsh, who read his stuff now almost universally believe he's some sort of sell out mushy hack  .

This argument is a flawed argument. I mean, you do know why it's been declining since 2007 don't you? I'll give you a hint, it's the exact same reason why healthcare costs have been declining over the past few years.

It's the economy. Less jobs = less opportunity = less migration from Mexico.

Weaker economy = less medical inflation.

He's right that the Trump allure is more about personality than policy. It's just so amazingly refreshing to watch a guy freely say things that will draw the media ire, then stand his ground, and hit back when attacked. If the republican party hadn't collectively resembled a giant kitty for the last decade or 2 it wouldn't make waves. But these gutless wonders always pull a Trent Lott and apologize every time they offend someone instead of standing up, taking the hit, and saying "!@#$ you" to the whiners. Maybe someone else will take a cue from Trump and let his balls hang down.

OR you can invest about 15 minutes and review the results of liberalism. It doesn't accomplish anything positive but does create misery for people.I would say that the ball is in YOUR court.

Oh, I'm quite familiar with the outcomes of liberal policy, both intended and unintended.

Republicans have, for years, used strong arm tactics to marginalize and use libertarians. Now I, and other libertarians, are doing the same thing to Republicans. You need us to avoid another 4+ years of Democratic leadership. Give us a libertarian, or we'll give you another Democrat. It's as simple as that.

Trouble for you is that the demographics are running away from your quixotic quest. Keep voting for the free lunch givers and maybe your grandchildren will see the day of another conservative POTUS.

Thanks for being part of the solution.

Having a Den President with a Republican congress may preserve libertarian policies more than a John McCain type liberal Republican would. With the former the congress blocks liberal moves; with the latter it facilitate liberal moves delivered in a conservative package.

FWIW, I've never actually voted for anyone I thought was 'my' candidate, but have always voted against what I consider to be the lesser of two evils.

You've always voted against the lesser of two evils?

Interesting theory, even though there really isn't much to back this up other than just that, it's a theory. Even if you were to take what you say at face value, that doesn't take into account the executive orders, the people they appoint into their posts that actually dictate policy and the Supreme Court appointments.

I can understand a policy of not "asking for papers" randomly... But not doing a basic check of ID when arresting someone? That's dumb.

That's how it works in DC, too. The dumbass who wrecked my car (hit it while it was parked) was an illegal alien. The police not only refused to report him to INS, but refused to charge him (on four counts - lack of insurance, leaving the scene of an accident, speeding, and DWI) because "We don't want to ruin his life."

Uh, yeah. THAT'S exactly the kind of illegal immigrant who's life you want to ruin.

That's a valid concern, but I have plenty to back the unbolded up, I just didn't include it. To give an example, do you think a Republican congress would have ever passed NCLB or the Medicare benefit expansion for a Democrat President? They didn't roll over for that **** with Clinton or Obama, but they gave Bush every liberal bill he asked for. Edited by Rob's House

Yeah, it's so refreshing seeing a guy lie and offend the entire Latino community, just so that he can garner votes amongst the nativist community, it's so refreshing to see a guy denigrate a war hero, it's so refreshing to proudly proclaim to be a birther kook, it's so refreshing in all his egomaniacal might to boldly proclaim how he would be the greatest job creator God ever created without giving a single hint in how he'd do that, it's so refreshing to see a guy running to be the president of the greatest nation in the world get involved in these sophomoric fights with members of our political community and then proceed to give out their private phone number out of spite.

Yeah, he's dreamy.
