This poll doesn't suprise me.Character is a non-issue for most posters here.

This poll thus far doesn't suprise me.It's obvious from most of the posters here that character is a non-issue.

Such a terrible take, you had to write it twice.

For me, it all depends. I don't really care what "the masses" say about the organization. However, I don't want to have to cheer for a guy that punched a kid out of anger (if indeed that's what happened).

I think indiscretions have to be taken on a sliding scale. If we're talking about a kid fresh out of college making a few mistakes (i.e. Dareus), then that's one thing. If we're talking about an adult--a parent no less-who's had issues in the past with regard to being a hot-head, and he does something outrageous, then I want the organization to get rid of him. Not because I care what anyone else thinks, but because I don't want to have to explain to my kids why I cheer for a guy that punches children (just using that as an example since that's what Kromer's accused of).

That said, I think they're handling the situation properly. Suspend him with pay until the facts are sorted out, then act appropriately.

Do you normally cheer for the OL coach?

How much do you care about any negative PR for the Bills/Pegulas that could come from the Aaron Kromer situation?

Easy answer for me is I'm not bothered yet. My main concern w the Rex hire was that he seemed to run a loose ship. So far we have possible private tweets to a porn star & a coach allegedly going bonkers on a kid. The second worries me much if the allegations are mostly true.

What means more is how does the team respond.

not sure how Rex could have controlled any of this. (who tweeted a porn star?). How they respond will be an issue. I'd cut Kromer at this point because he seems to be nuts (Cutler issue in Chicago, punching kids, etc.). Only a matter of time before he creates an internal issue here. Get a quality O-line coach now.

Character matters but it is not the only criteria.

Yeah having character in a organization is terrible right? Hope you're not raising children.

Yeah but just wait until that bomb called Incognito goes off.

There seems to be a lot of character in the Bills organization, which is why I don't worry about a virtually unknown (to non fanatics) OL coach tarnishing that reputation. It's like a mosquito bite. If you eliminate every person with character flaws from every place of employment, there would be no work force.

FTR, I still haven't decided if what Kromer did is that egregious yet. We don't know the whole story. It doesn't look great, but we still don't know what led to it. He is rightfully suspended while the organization waits for more info.

If I got arrested for hitting an underage kid, you can be assured that I would be terminated from my job. I expect the same result from a high profile, high paying job with the Bills as well. The Incognito issues, to me, are not the same. What he did was before he was a member of the Bills and people can and do change and do deserve second chances. But here, this occurred under the Bills employ and he should be terminated if he is guilty unless he was shown to be acting in defense of himself or his son (not sure of FLA laws concerning self-defense defenses in cases involving battery of a minor but it is conceivable that they may not exist as an option, thus he could still be found guilty).

what if we fire him, but re-hire him in like a month for a second chance?

Character flaws and physical abuse of women and children are two completely different animals in my opinion.

I'm more concerned with O'reily DUI with oor other franchise. That looks worse in wake of his large deal and the fact that he is a big piece of the rebuild. It looks silly

Kromer has been accused of hitting a woman now too? That poster said "character" is not a big deal to most of us, I responded specifically to that. For reference, he thought Dareus should have been run out of town for character issues.

Still, we don't know happened. We do know that it was a 3 on 2 situation and that Kromer dotted a teens eye and his son grabbed one by the neck, allegedly. If the kids were all about 17 and acting like punks, this is a non issue IMO. It would be a much bigger deal to me if the kids were 13 in the same scenario.

neither looks good. But with ROR, he's 24 and it was first offense, and will serve whatever suspension the nhl lays down. Guys like that don't get cut, they fulfill their punishment and move on. Just as the Blackhawks took some lumps with Kane. The Sabres didn't sign him with known DUI or other character issues so it doesn't reflect on them, it reflects on him. If he keeps screwing up, then that's different, they will need to do something. It's similar to Dareus issues last year. Imo. Edited by YoloinOhio
