ICanSleepWhenI'mDead Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 I'm not saying it was aliens, but ….. http://arstechnica.com/cars/2015/07/boeing-patents-laser-powered-fusion-fission-jet-engine-for-airplanes-spacecraft/ Boeing has received a patent for, I kid you not, a laser-powered fusion-fission jet propulsion system. Boeing envisions that this system could replace both rocket and turbofan engines, powering everything from spacecraft to missiles to airplanes.

Deranged Rhino Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 Disclosure right around the corner. September 23rd 2015 seems to be a big day for it.
sodbuster Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 I think they're just trying to beat Lockheed Martin to the punch.
Wayne Cubed Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 Seems legit. I look forward to safer air travel.
Lurker Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 (edited) Seems legit. I look forward to safer air travel. Just be sure to wear your lead-lined undies on those flights... http://www.ubergizmo.com/2013/11/yamamoto-comes-up-with-radiation-shielding-underwear/ Edited July 15, 2015 by Lurker
DC Tom Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 That's new? I've been reading about that sort of engine for thirty years or so.
/dev/null Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 That's new? I've been reading about that sort of engine for thirty years or so. It doesn't count if you just keep re-reading your own pubescent diary fantasy about how you want to run off with James T Kirk
