Joe Miner Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 Maybe you're too close to contemporary politics to see it, maybe you're blinded by your Trump hatred, or maybe both, but if you lose the cultural battle you lose the political one, and the left is winning this running away because no one challenges them. Trump is showing that when the PC police come for you your best move is to tell them to go !@#$ themselves. I don't know why people find it so confusing. But that's nothing like what he's doing. When the pc police come, he doesn't say f.u., he cries because they aren't being fair.
GG Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 But that's nothing like what he's doing. When the pc police come, he doesn't say f.u., he cries because they aren't being fair. And that was plainly evident in the Jake tapper interview. He didn't just stand his ground, He whined about the unfairness and then made up a story that his comments were misconstrued, and "they" didn't give him a chance to finish his thought. Except when you listen to his comments, nobody interrupted him and he fully finished his commentary without any interruption.
Rob's House Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 What cultural battle are you talking about? The one where you can refer to women who disagree with you a menstrual psycho? And the leader of your cultural parade is a serial cheater who hasn't met a post pubescent east European model that he doesn't hit on? That's your standard bearer? Again don't look at what he says in front of the camera. Look at his record. He's a professional charlatan. I'm fine with disagreement, but not dishonesty. I don't think he was talking about her period, but who knows. You going that route and treating it as fact indicates that your primary objective is to rip Trump. I know you're not stupid, yet you claim not to understand a point only a gatorman could miss, which leads me to think you're trying really hard not to get it. But to be clear, do you really not find it remotely interesting that Trump has now had 3 politically incorrect "scandals" that increasingly spell the end of one's candidacy (and in most cases career), but instead of apologizing has doubled down, and has walked away more popular than before?
IDBillzFan Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 At this point it's not really a matter of whether he's a serious Presidential contender, it's about the impact he's having on the culture. The real joke is that people think some establishment drone is going to make any difference at all. Jeb Bush or whoever will just grab a bucket and bale water out of a sinking ship. I'd prefer to have a more libertarian conservative who has balls like Trump. But until someone breaks this mold of polished politically correct "compassionate" conservative politicians and replace it with tough guys with attitude it really doesn't matter because they'll never get it implemented anyway. When did the choice become either Donald Trump or establishment drone? Or did you miss Ted Cruz standing in the Senate calling Mitch McConnell a liar?A drone calling the majority senate leader of his own party a liar on the senate floor? Have you listened to Carly Fiorina? Ben Carson? Hell, even Scott Walker? Drones? We already have a president who is considered "a tough guy with attitude." He's a douchebag. We have a president who starts every sentence with "I did this" and "If it weren't for me..." He's a douchebag. We have a president who bucks establishment with executive order. He's a douchebag. So is Trump. What you think you want and what Trump will bring you are two radically different things, and I'm surprised you can't see that. But to be clear, do you really not find it remotely interesting that Trump has now had 3 politically incorrect "scandals" that increasingly spell the end of one's candidacy (and in most cases career), but instead of apologizing has doubled down, and has walked away more popular than before? We already HAVE a president who has MORE than three politically incorrect "scandals" that increasingly spell the end of one's candidacy, but instead of apologizing has doubled down, and has walked away more popular than before. He's a douchebag.

He's a douchebag. Fiorina laid off 30,000 people at HP, almost ran the company into the ground and walked away with 40 million dollars. But you're calling Trump a douchebag and holding her up as an opposition candidate? Wow. You keep wringing your hands at what the left would do to Trump, what do you think they'd do to Carly? ..."Hey pajama boys, dust off that 2012 campaign blueprint!" She literally would not have any chance at being elected president.
GG Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 The only reason that he's still in this thing that 25% of the GOP base refuse to do basic homework on the guy and that Rush still supports him. And you know why Rush supports him? Not because Trump is a good candidate but because Trump is a ratings bonanza. Let that sink in for a moment. Fiorina laid off 30,000 people at HP, almost ran the company into the ground and walked away with 40 million dollars. Or that he got wiped out in Atlantic city a decade before everyone else?

And Obama isn't tough at all, he's a huge pu$$y. And liberals having scandals is not the type of thing I'm talking about. Libs always get a pass anyway, but I'm talking about political incorrectness which is a while other animal. Political Correctness is a plastic bag over the head of any conservative movement. It circumvents discussion and handcuffs the candidates so they can't address the issues in a serious way. Until these guys learn how to play their game rather than having the game dictated by the [media and] opponent they're not going to accomplish much. And whoever gets the eventual nomination (probably Cruz) will be better off because of all of this.

I've read a lot from him and a lot from you, and to be fair, you're too pie-in-the-sky for me waste time trying to reason with. It's bad enough you have me ending sentences with prepositions. Before long, you'll make me explain the difference between federal and state, and I'm just not up for it right now. Edited August 11, 2015 by LABillzFan

I'll preface what I'm about to say by restating my ballot intentions: If I don't get a libertarian, I'm voting D. With that said, anyone actually arguing in favor of a Republican candidate, and supporting what Trump is doing is missing alot. He is irreparably damaging, quite intentionally, the brand. None of the issues will matter, because they'll never be discussed. You want every day Americans to hear about the merits of small government? They never will, because an actual policy disagreement will be less than an ant-hill to a mole-hill to a side-car to a circus-freak in the media, and that's all the public will ever hear about. End of story. The narrative is all that matters, as perception is reality. Trump will never win a Presidential election. Ever. But he will forever destroy the only opposition party. Saul Alinsky was once asked what should be done once the American Socialist movement had seized power in our democratic society, in order to best hold onto it's "achievements" in the face of democratic backlash. He said that he didn't know. That we'd have to see. You're watching what that movement does. Enjoy the privilege, or stop the movement.

The Republicans aren't competitive and don't have a message they're willing to sell with any conviction. Trump pulling attention acts as a lightning rod and also gives the other guys a chance to shine. Everyone knows Trump is his own brand anyway so I don't see it tarnishing the Republican brand, which is about as prestigious as K-Mart right about now anyway. And if it FINALLY teaches these guys not to play by the PC crowds rules anymore I don't see how that can be bad.

Because the people who elect the President are sensitive, because the zietgiest has told them to be, and they're conditioned to it. Which is why Trump has been run out by the left.

Worst-case scenario, Trump is a William Wallace who will motivate some Robert the Bruce to fight. (yes, I know Braveheart was essentially fiction). The Trump supporters have decided that Trump's our best chance to defeat Jeb. I still don't expect to win, but I'll enjoy the ride. Amazingly a pro-Hillary blog is one of the few political blogs that has figured out the establishment has rigged things for Jeb. Is there anything dumber than a Ted Cruz supporter? Well, maybe a Carly Fiorina supporter. Maybe a Ben Carson supporter. Maybe a Rubio supporter. Maybe a Paul supporter. Maybe a Christie supporter. Maybe a Walker supporter. Maybe a Huckabee supporter. Maybe Perry/Santorum/Pataki/Jindal/Gilmore/Graham supporter(s), if any. Some of the dummies will find what we say provocative. But take it from those of us who attended the 2008 Rules and Bylaws Committee of the Democratic National Committee. We know what we are talking about and you are all total dummies no matter how smart you think you are. We’ll start off slowly. Why do you dummies think that in the early primaries the delegates won will be distributed proportionate to the margin of victory of the (many) candidates? Why do you fools think that the first state that is winner take all is one of the most delegate rich states and that state happens to be Jeb Bush’s Florida? Why do you numbskulls think that there are only about 10 debates this election cycle compared to the 27 of the last election cycle? All of this is designed to help one candidate snuff out the possibility of a debate based campaign from an undercapitalized candidate and to assure that the candidate with the most money and the biggest organization will be the eventual nominee. That was the plan… it was designed to nominate Jeb Bush… the plan would have worked… but then came Trump.

IDBillzFan Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Amazingly a pro-Hillary blog is one of the few political blogs that has figured out the establishment has rigged things for Jeb. Nobody wants a Jeb Bush GOP candidacy more than Hillary, because no matter how you slice it, the right will NEVER be stupid enough to come out in force to vote for Jeb while the left with absolutely be stupid enough to elect Hillary because they aren't smart enough or involved enough to know what else to do. The gatormans. The Reggos. The ...lybobs. The birddogs. They're dead dog Democrats...they willfully and stupidly would vote for a dead dog before they'd vote for anything other than a Democrat.
TakeYouToTasker Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Any thought process that doesn't believe Trump to be a leftist, globalist plant, positioned to aid the Clintons, the short term domestic left, and the long term globalists, hasn't been paying attention for the last 30 years.
