Postpone this inevitability by throwing money at inferior content? Makes sense.

Local newspapers serve other functions than just whatever it is you're referring to as, "inferior content." Newspapers will only exist as long as there is a market for them. To consider their demise an inevitability seems a bit defeatist, to me-- but then again, I appreciate newspapers. If you really think that Buffalo would be better off without a newspaper, then I understand why you would consider buying one as "throwing money" at it. However, if, like me, you appreciate the value a newspaper has for its community, then supporting them by buying the papers, frequenting their websites, and using their advertising space (if you are a small business owner), is a worthy endeavor.

I actually think making mistakes online is less forgivable. Newspaper writers have far stricter deadlines due to the paper needing to be printed. Internet writers just need to click a button to upload their story to a site instantly.

It seems like it's more of a rush job to get it up online ASAP.
