I guess it isn't instantaneous at this point. This has been a consistent message from those watching practice. There has been a regression since he got here. He wasn't put in a fair situation but it doesn't matter. He already is seeing the fewest reps with the starters. This isn't some conspiracy campaign. It's a simple reading of the tea leaves.

Perhaps, but can we give it a couple of weeks or a preseason game or two before we make grand pronouncements on EJ's demise? I could see your point if Cassel and Taylor were looking good, but they clearly aren't either. So why not just let the competition continue. Isn't that a no brainer decision right now?

I wonder if something big is going on behind the scenes. If no one steps up I could definitely see the Bills making a HUGE "swing for the fences" play for Kaepernick (with Niners looking like they want that 1st pick in 2016 draft and a big rebuild). Doug didn't rule out bringing in a new QB. What would the price be for Kaepernick? You just know that Whaley, Rex and Roman must be thinking about that kind of move the more our QBs aren't looking any good.

@mikerodak

Matt Cassel has probably been the best Bills QB so far in camp, but that’s not saying much. My full recap: http://es.pn/1VVpH1M

Oh thank God.

I was worried that Cassel might be a starter. Fortunately, whenever I look for an insightful opinion on the Bills, looking at someone who hasn't made a snap judgement on the barest of facts and of someone who isn't a complete hack looking for clickbait...I look for the exact opposite of what Mike Rodak says.

Seriously have we not gotten this (*^*&%^$^#fired yet? Even Philly fans want him canned after his piss poor Shady interview.

That's kind of been my point. Have they all been negative on him or has he been bad? If it was 1 guy with an axe to grind -maybe. When everyone is saying that it is probably because that's what's happening. For what it is worth they haven't been raving about any of them.

It's the mentality that runs rampant here, that (no offense) you are perpetuating. The doom and gloom regarding QB prospects is actually the norm. So it's no surprise to me that this attitude is prevalent with Buffalo news outlets. They've been exposed to the same poor level of QB play over the last 15 years. It's so ingrained that the emphasis on the negative is just what occurs every spring and summer with this team regarding our QBs.

And then everyone chooses sides and argues over who is going to be right.

For me, it has just been discussed SO much that I don't even feel like chiming in very often. We are literally going over the same stuff constantly. I'm more concerned with who does well in the preseason games as opposed to reacting to individual tweets on every practice rep. Practice is the time to get the mistakes out of your system as you try to gel with your teammates. I've watched a lot of live game tape of Cassell, EJ, and Tyrod (mostly in college) and I'm confident we will move the chains better this year. I initially thought EJ would seize the starting job, but I have a feeling Tyrod may be more of a gamer who makes things happen.

I think that one goes to the end of TC. Kujo is getting plenty of 1st team reps and drawing REX-praise.

Also, reading between the OLines -as it were, I think it's telling that Wood HASN'T been declared starting center. Appears he got abused today and he's coming off his worst year of play, IMO.

well we have Urbik don't we>

actually i have found Eric's play worrisome for longer than TC. let hope he pulls his jock up and gets it together. we kinda need him to succeed.

Everyone's pay such close attention to the QBs, they need to pay just as much to the offensive line. Particularly the interior

Wood.fixed lol

figure out the rt and center and we are good

Rex Ryan: "I've never seen it before, but Sammy Watkins took someone off their feet in a stalk block drill. This just in, Sammy can do everything."

Watching Ryan's press conference today and how he glowed when talking about Shady and Watkins warmed the cockles of my cold, dead heart.

thank gosh something finally did GreggyT.

who is they? media or coaches or the Anti EJ crowd?

if EJ is as bad as some posters are saying - there will be no market for him. to bash EJ saying he is horrible and then expect ROI is plain silly IMO

When I say "they" I'm referring to the Bills organization.

I think the media and some posters here may be overreacting a bit. The Bills organization is probably not as worried as some fans/media are.

The bottom line is that it doesn't hurt to have EJ on the sideline as a backup if that's the case. Like I said earlier...I for one will be livid if TT starts and gets hurt and all of a sudden Cassel/Simms is next in line.

For all we know Rex and G Ro are learning a lot about EJ this week and they may be thinking to themselves..."We can coach this kid"

which is fair because they are just getting to know him. as they are TT. Cassels just meh so..

let see some more with pads on and more stuff installed. it a balancing act for HC to help everyone improve between O and D. I am at least waiting till preseason and the cuts begin.

now wheres my Bot ?

Interesting to see these reporters and read Astro's notes. They're often at odds, and I trust Astro more.

He's just being more objective, giving the facts of what is taking place, versus filtering it through a subjective lens. Unfortunately, reporters seem to have been forced to add a subjective spin in order to stay viable/get clicks/attention. Probably a result of everyone being able to have a platform via social media.

Interesting take about Rex and Roman. The opposite could also be said but I like your opinion better.

One thing that I'm curious of now is how the coaches watch practice. Are they watching primarily the ones or are they jumping back and forth.

Sunday morning. Beautiful weather. First day of Buffalo Bills football with pads. Day three of Bills Camp was picturesque.

 The comments are the best. People are upset at the rookie "hazing", I get it but come on. It's carrying pads, not being physically abused. It's part of team building on top of being a way to teach a 21 year old rookie, and newly minted millionaire, some humility. I don't see that as a problem at all.
