As the dinosaurs of "Jurassic World" continues their dominance of the box office(did anyone actually think it would outgross "Avengers: Age of Ultron"?) the month of July arrives, and is loaded with plenty of offerings to satisfy the appetites of moviegoers looking for more fun. Disney looks to add to it's bank at the box office this month. With 3 major hits already this summer("Tomorrowland" being the one misfire) they once again turn to their Marvel branch with a new superhero origin story.

The comic book movie empire run by Disney/Marvel bring it's latest offering in the form of, "Ant-Man". Starring Paul Rudd, Corey Stoll, Evangeline Lilly & Michael Douglas.

After two successful movies, Gru's helpers get their own story with "Minions". Starring the voices of Sandra Bullock, Michael Keaton, Jon Hamm & Pierre Coffin.

80's arcade game characters go on a rampage, in "Pixels". When aliens misinterpret video feeds of classic arcade games as a declaration of war, they attack the Earth in the form of the video games. Starring Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Michelle Monaghan & Peter Dinklage.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is back with "Terminator Genisys". John Connor sends Kyle Reese back in time to protect Sarah Connor, but when he arrives in 1984, nothing is as he expected it to be. Also starring Jason Clarke, Emilia Clarke & Jai Courtney.

Channing Tatum returns with "Magic Mike XXL". Three years after Mike bowed out of the stripper life at the top of his game, he and the remaining Kings of Tampa hit the road to Myrtle Beach to put on one last blow-out performance. Also starring Joe Manganiello, Matt Bomer & Adam Rodriguez.

Amy Schumer stars in the Judd Apatow directed, "Trainwreck". Having thought that monogamy was never possible, a commitment-phobic career woman may have to face her fears when she meets a good guy. Also starring Bill Hader, Brie Larson & Colin Quinn.

Chris Hemsworth stars in "Vacation". Rusty Griswold takes his own family on a road trip to "Walley World" in order to spice things up with his wife and reconnect with his sons. Also starring Leslie Mann, Elizabeth Gillies & Beverly D'Angelo.

Ryan Reynolds stars in "Self/less". An extremely wealthy man, dying from cancer, undergoes a radical medical procedure that transfers his consciousness into the body of a healthy young man. But all is not as it seems when he starts to uncover the mystery of the body's origin and the organization that will kill to protect its cause. I'm really psyched to see "The Stanford Prison Experiment", an independent movie that is getting some good Sundance hype. The trailer literally gave me goosebumps. Hits select theaters on 7/17 and then Video On Demand on 7/24.

I went on a movie tear last week, catching up. Knocked off Spy (great, loved it), Inside Out (terrific), Jurassic World (really enjoyed it), Cartel Land (a doc that is worth checking out), and Ted 2 (meh but I laughed quite a bit). Really looking forward to Rogue Nation, Trainwreck (surprise hit of the summer), and Ant Man (sucker for Paul Rudd).

Trainwreck does look awesome. Schumer is on fire!

It's going be the big R-rated comedy hit of the summer I'm pretty sure. Lebron might be the big winner from it though. He financed a chunk of the film and apparently is pretty funny in his role in the film (which runs contrary to how he comes off in the trailers, but that's just my opinion).

Are there any others? I haven't really noticed anything yet.

I've heard that about LeBron as well. From the trailers I've seen, he seems to be playing an overly sensitive/effeminate version of himself, so maybe that is what is so funny about it. Seeing him embrace a portrayal of himself that is so different from what he's really like. A similar situation would be how NPH went the hilarious psycho route in Harold and Kumar.

Ted 2 and Spy are both R, though Spy is really more of an action/comedy kinda deal.

Ahhh, two movies I'm not the least bit interested in. That explains why I missed it completely. And actually, now that I think of it, I don't think I've paid attention to movie ratings since before I was 18. I couldn't tell you the rating of anything I've watched lately. The trailers typically give me a very good idea of what content I can expect and I haven't been caught off guard yet.

Ant Man looked good but did not see the last 5-10 minutes of it.

They used the Cure - Disintegration at the perfect time, I wish they could have kept it just a little bit longer.

I didn't realize that was TI until seeing him a few times. Odd choice, but I always liked him interviewed on Stern.

Paul Rudd played the character well, as did the rest of the cast.

Better movie, by far, then I thought it would be.

The first Ted was mildly funny, at best.

Saw Ant-Man on Saturday morning... I wasn't expecting much, since the trailers didn't look that great... but man, that ended up being a really fun movie. Kudos to Marvel for making a superhero action comedy heist movie!

I've basically seen every big-budget/hyped movie this year and Ant-man has been the best so far. Jurassic World was meh, but I expected too much going in.

People will be scared to pay money to see Antman because the trailer and marketing has been awful. Word of mouth might keep it rolling.

For Jurassic World, I made sure to keep my expectations at "crappy story but fun dinosaur scenes", and basically got what I expected haha... Characters were so wooden and boring, but man... dino fights, fun times!

Agreed on word of mouth for Ant-Man... it exceeds the trailers big time. I like that they took out a bit of the self deprecation bits from the trailers, because they came off as kinda tired and overplayed.

I went to Jurassic World this weekend. I wasn't at all interested for the first half of the movie when they setup the characters. Once all hell broke loose it was entertaining though. I wish they had gotten to the action earlier because the characters weren't at all interesting. Just once I wish one of these movies would grow a set and actually kill off the annoying kid characters. Now that would catch people's attention.

It's pretty bad when you're rooting for the dinosaurs to eat the main characters.

Although, you could make the case that the dinosaurs were the protagonists breaking free from their slave masters.

Interestingly, Bryce Dallas Howard's indestructible stiletto heels was the least plausible thing in the movie.

There's no question in my mind at least, the protagonist of Jurassic World was Blue, not Pratt nor Howard.
