Just Jack Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 But buying a vehicle with a high percentage of TDC does help keep Americans employed and the economy healthy, even if it doesn’t really matter where the profits ultimately flow. What matters are paychecks for American workers, at all levels of a new car’s design, engineering, and production process. This was my argument with a friend years ago. That my Toyota built in the US employed more American people that their Ford built in Canada.
Just Jack Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 They don't have the Ford or Chevy trucks on there. Yea they do. Use the Full List link, then in the Search For Your Car box, just type in Ford or Chevrolet. You'll see them in the results.
Oxrock Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 (edited) I have a 2000 Tundra built in Indiana and and a 2010 Tundra built in Texas. When the 2010 is paid off next month, I'll have a 2016 Tundra (to replace the 2000) built in ??? Texas, I assume... not sure. Edited July 5, 2015 by Oxrock
Very wide right Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 This was my argument with a friend years ago. That my Toyota built in the US employed more American people that their Ford built in Canada. One of my business vehicles is a Dodge truck.Built in Saltillo Mexico.I have noticed that the mopar oil filters are made in Canada. You make a good argument Just Jack. I think the unions are making most of the buy American noise these days and it's unwarranted.
