Maybe they are waiting to the end to string those games needed? That way they can't get accused of throwing them. The Sabres can just say: "We are trying to get Hackett the number of games he needs!" I know Murray doesn't believe in stepping in but in special circumstances it is necessary, he can't leave last place up to a coach who want's win every game no matter what.
