K-9
Why does Detroit get a 4th round pick if a team hires Babcock? Is he still under contract or something.. What is the whole letter of compensation thing about? He's under contract until July 1st. Detroit is entitled to ask for compensation from any team that signs him before then. What is the whole letter of compensation thing about? The team that signs Babcock (if he leaves the Wings) will owe a 3rd round pick to Detroit in one of the next three years. It's a small price to pay for a great coach.

May Day 10
I dont know. If he is meeting with San Jose, and maybe St Louis this week, I wouldnt consider anything a done deal.
26CornerBlitz
http://espn.go.com/blog/nhl/post/_/i...n-by-wednesday To me, though, I feel like it’s Detroit or Buffalo as the front-runners. Babcock would get a healthy raise from the Red Wings but certainly less than what he could get in Buffalo or Toronto. With the Sabres, there’s a relationship with GM Tim Murray that dates back to their Anaheim Ducks days together. For the Sabres, it’s plain to see they are a team on the rise with a very bright future.
Dante
Canada made Russia look pretty bad yesterday. Here's a nice goal by Sabre Ennis. I think he likes the big ice. Â Â https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Byyvf22P2rU
ChevyVanMiller
Has anyone been able to buy the Hockey News with Eichel on the cover anywhere in WNY? I've looked in a half dozens stores with no luck. Â It can be ordered online, but with a $6 shipping charge. Â If you've found it, please let me know where.
