ricojes
Chris Stewart for sure. Possibly Torrey Mitchell. Yes, Stewart for sure. Hodgson would be great, Murray isn't a miracle worker, but you never know. Maybe Georges, Benoit, Meszaros or Weber, other than that, there really isn't anything left other than young talent that you want to build around. I think Moulson and Gionta are good for the locker room, so they are probably not traded. Some of Kane's thought's on the trade: http://prohockeytalk.nbcsports.com/2015/02/11/sabres-kane-im-definitely-glad-to-be-moving-on/?ocid=Yahoo&partner=ya5nbcs Edited February 12, 2015 by ricojes
The Real Buffalo Joe
They should just forfeit the season now. Anybody with remaining tickets can trade them in for a Connor McDavid 3rd jersey.
May Day 10
I could see them hanging onto Stewart...
Buftex
Now finish the tank and move the last of the dead weight. Onto the draft and free agency where we move ourselves forward. Who else do you think they move? There isn't a ton left from the old regime...I am hoping they at least keep Tyler Ennis.

ChevyVanMiller
I'm enjoying watching Edmonton games on the nights the Sabres are off. What a burst by Yakupov just prior to that OT winner.6 points to the good.

bbb
Me, too. I also love that Edmonton keeps coming back in games, it seems. There's been a few times in the last few weeks where I figured they were done, and then they not only tie it but win it.

Buftex
It's nice cheering on a team to win...I miss that! Sure it has been said, many times, many ways...I hope to god this tank thing works out for the Sabres, and they get McDavid or Eichel... but I just have a really hard time with the notion of rooting for my team to lose...it is such a perversion of everything I love about sports. Sports, for me, on game day anyways, used to be the one thing where cynicism and negativity weren't a factor...I just root for my team to win, straight up. I will take an ugly, poorly played win by the Bills, Sabres or Celtics, over a noble effort loss, any day of the week... I just chose not to subscribe to Center Ice this year, and have just been pretty much ignoring the Sabres/NHL as much as I can...I still read the re-caps, look at the standings...but man, this is a brutal process. I have only seen about 5 Sabres games this year...just tough to watch...ironically, I missed the Stars game last Saturday, even though it was on in my local market... I miss the Sabres! I suspect I will not be able to resist the NHL playoffs, probably rooting for the Sharks to make it over the hump...but what a tough season this has been. I suspect I will not be able to resist the NHL playoffs, probably rooting for the Sharks to make it over the hump...but what a tough season this has been. You are correct... It is a waste of time to watch and root for them to lose. I have also tuned them out. Attended 2 games this year, watched maybe 3 complete games. I do follow the scores closely every night though. I am a huge fan. Probably watched over 95% of all Sabres games since 1988 until the recent lockout year (when I started to really root for scorched earth to get Ruff& Regier out and "tank" a few years. But with that said, I am 100% behind this as a fan. The payoff promises to be a ton of good times. This past team they sold off in recent years was so unlikeable, soft, "Catwalk" for charity sums them up. Regier and Ruff did not believe in dictating physical play at all. The team was just talented enough to be middle of the road, but once the physicality ramped up, they headed for the hills. You look at the possible lineups next year above (as it is now), and we have a pretty gritty and talented young squad coming together. Its going to be a joy to really watch next year, root for development and watch them grow. With McEichel, Reinhart, Bogosian, and Kane, I think we have a #1 or #2 overall, a #3 and a #4... then upwards of 7 other former 1st rounders, all very young. Take into account a glut of goalie prospects where any 1 or 2 can emerge... and guys ready to hit Rochester soon like Bailey, Baptiste, Fasching, Compher, Hurley, etc... plus an additional 1st this year and the #31 pick. Its going to be very exciting. I think we could also see some additional moves this Summer. Also have a few wildcards in there like Larsson, Carrier, and Ruhwedel. ricojes
If it was not obvious the front office built a team to tank and they were just a bad team, it would be different. But this team was build to ensure the best odds of obtaining a generational player. I find myself rooting for them to score more often than not, it's just being a fan, but I soon realize it's all for the best and I am fine with it. It sucks it has come to this, but this will be a distant memory very soon. This will be a competitive team starting next year and uphill from there. So for the rest of this year, GO TANK! After this season, GO SABRES!!!!!
bbb
I've rooted for the Bills to lose late season games many times, in order to get a better draft pick. I want to win a championship - and I don't really care about winning meaningless regular season games when there is no chance at the playoffs. The Real Buffalo Joe
I've never outright rooted for a tank before now. I think this time there's two reasons. Number one, obvoious upside of McDavid, or at worst, Eichel. Two, gives me a reason to still watch this horrendous $#!+.
