Pete Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 7 league sources polled, Bills get 3 votes, Panthers, Ravens, Dolphins each get 1 vote- thats 6 votes out of 7, and 3 are for Bills. How exactly did the Eagles beat our 3 votes?

Buffalo was 22nd in the league in yards per carry against last season.

Fletcher Cox is a player for the Eagles, whose claim the author refutes.

How exactly did the Eagles beat our 3 votes?they didn't. They got honorable mention. But, Cox thinks they are #1.
Doc Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Strange that he should say that the Eagles need to improve their run defense to be considered in the same category as Buffalo when they had a better ypc against than Buffalo. Buffalo was 22nd in the league in yards per carry against last season. The Eagles had the 5th worst pass defense last year meaning teams elected to pass more, and the Bills were 12th in ypc, not 22nd.
Saxum Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 (edited) 7 league sources polled, Bills get 3 votes, Panthers, Ravens, Dolphins each get 1 vote- thats 6 votes out of 7, and 3 are for Bills. How exactly did the Eagles beat our 3 votes? Weighed votes, Eagle votes count more according to person keeping score. And I dispute Cox is a "star". Edited June 23, 2015 by Koolaid
NoSaint Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Weighed votes, Eagle votes count more according to person keeping score. And I dispute Cox is a "star". Cox was a top 15 pick and already an all pro.... It's comes across like hurt feeling because he said he thought his team is the best. Big deal- it's an attitude you'd love in a guy from your own team
hondo in seattle Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 (edited) Yep. The Bills won this vote. Cool. (Good find, Yolo). On a recent edition of the Move The Sticks Podcast, NFL Media's Daniel Jeremiah polled seven league sources to find out which team boasts the NFL's strongest front seven. The Bills garnered three votes while the Ravens, Panthers, Rams and Dolphins received one vote apiece. The Seahawks, Jets, Chiefs and Eagles earned honorable mention. The Eagles finished second only to the Bills with 49 sacks last season. If they want to be viewed in the same light as Buffalo, though, they'll have to improve their 15th rank in run defense. 4merper4mer Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Read the article. Fletcher Cox is a player for the Eagles, whose claim the author refutes. I get it with Cox but the writer is refuting it for clicks. It shouldn't have been futed in place but Cox is on the Eagles so I'll give a pass.
....lybob Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 I'll make this bold prediction - The AFC East will have two defenses in the top 5 and two more defenses in the top 10
MDH Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 I'll make this bold prediction - The AFC East will have two defenses in the top 5 and two more defenses in the top 10 There is no way in hell the Pats D is ranked in the top 10. Their front 7 is good but teams are going to throw all day on that secondary.
Wayne Cubed Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Strange that he should say that the Eagles need to improve their run defense to be considered in the same category as Buffalo when they had a better ypc against than Buffalo. Buffalo was 22nd in the league in yards per carry against last season. The Bills weren't ranked 22nd in YPA for rushing last year, they were 12th. Also, Philly was ranked behind Buffalo in total rushing yards, rushing TD's and yards per game.
GunnerBill Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Yea.... Cox is just talking his team up... they all do it. We have the best front 7 in my opinion. I predict Bills D is top 3, Miami and Jets are top 10 and the Patriots are bottom 10. I am honestly starting to believe that New England might not make the play-offs this year...... (I know this is ridiculous June optimism but I just think there might be too many hole for the evil genius to overcome)

Also, Philly was ranked behind Buffalo in total rushing yards, rushing TD's and yards per game. You are correct, but considering that Philly has a much better ypc against I would call the two run defenses comparable. Buffalo's run defense was really not that strong last season despite the hype. They we're middle of the pack and faded as the season went on. That's why I say it's strange that the author things Philly needs to be more like Buffalo in its run defense.

They added Byron Maxwell so we'll see how much it improves.

They were tied for 13th in yards allowed per play. that doesnt totally close the gap but in efficiency per play they were much better than the cumulative stat. Edited June 23, 2015 by NoSaint
