YoloinOhio Posted June 16, 2015 Author Posted June 16, 2015 @jchenelly: 23-yr-old Nate Isles is trying out for @BuffaloBills today. The guard is 6' 5 & 348 pounds. He made the Seahawks last year as an UDFA.

Nanker Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Leave no stone unturned. Well, at least Henderson showed up today. Looking forward to the return of your old Avatar tomorrow Yolo.
OldTimer1960 Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 I hope that having Hunter try out is more that Rex is doing him a favor rather than a sign of desperation at OT. Maybe it was injury related earlier, but Hunter was not good in NY
JoeF Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Hunter is mentioned a lot in Collision Low Crossers --has not played in two years...Rex thought he had tremendous talent and had a really nasty temper.

Lmao. "When Hunter got angry, 'better bring a knife and a stun gun,'" said the security director. Edited June 17, 2015 by Bubbles from Sunnyvale

FluffHead Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 @mikerodak: Rex Ryan says he expects the Bills to sign Wayne Hunter before training camp. Tried out the past two days. Hunter is one of Rex's cronies. Rex has a Hawaiian style tattoo on his leg that he got years back to help convince Hunter to re sign with the jets.
Kelly the Dog Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 We needed a fourth OT in training camp besides an UDFA. I very much doubt Hunter makes the team barring injury. But it probably helps in the building a bully concept for the other players.
YoloinOhio Posted June 18, 2015 Author Posted June 18, 2015 @mikerodak: Rex on Wayne Hunter: I think he impressed some coaches with how athletic he is. He looks like hes in great shape."
YoloinOhio Posted June 18, 2015 Author Posted June 18, 2015 They really needed a vet OT, numbers wise

I'm starting to wonder about old Rex. The Jets were stacked when he got there, and they had success, and then they took steps backwards as I recall. QB selections come to mind and I wonder how much input Rex was given there?
26CornerBlitz Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Rex: I think Hunter will be signed It wasn’t an absolute, but according to head coach Rex Ryan is sounds like veteran offensive tackle Wayne Hunter, who came in on a tryout basis during Buffalo’s mandatory minicamp may soon be a Buffalo Bill. Hunter participated in his second straight minicamp practices with the Bills, albeit on a limited basis.

With Tannenbaum or Idzik or both? Just trying to figure out your question. Edited June 18, 2015 by YoloinOhio

Rex has done the same if not more, with both players and coaches, and you don't hear a word about it. I just find that interesting. If they wanted a tackle, there is certainly one out there that is better than a marginal player who has been out of the league for two full seasons. It likely has to do with Rex coming from an NFL team vs Marrones Syracuse cronyism Edited June 18, 2015 by FluffHead

Doubt he makes the team but if there's any injury at least rex knows what he has. I've never criticized any NFL coach for "cronyism", ever. It happens on every staff of every team and imo I don't see the negativity around it.

The funny part about Marrone's is, the two biggest names of the guys he brought with him from Syracuse were Hackett and Donnie Henderson, and Henderson is one of the best position coaches in the NFL now.
