26CornerBlitz Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 @BuffRumblings The folks at @PFF call Preston Brown their #Bills "Secret Superstar." Check it out. http://sbnation.com/e/8544648?utm_campaign=buffalorumblings&utm_content=chorus&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter Secret Superstar: Buffalo BillsPreston Brown was drafted in the third round out of Louisville in 2014 and was expected to be a backup behind the starting trio of Kiko Alonso, Brandon Spikes, and Nigel Bradford. A season-ending injury to Alonso, however, meant he was pushed into the starting lineup sooner than expected and tallied 94% of the team’s defensive snaps on the year, the highest percentage on the Bills’ defense.
Canadian Bills Fan Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 I cant wait to see what this kid does this year CBF
sjjr Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 The Bills must believe in him after trading Kiko and letting Spikes walk. He's not flashy but is tough, instinctive and very consistent. Should be a solid piece of a good D for a long time.
Jauronimo Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 Fwiw, last year PFF picked Bradham as their Secret Superstar who I thought had an excellent season and made big strides. https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2014/05/20/secret-superstars-2014-buffalo-bills/ Brown looked good last year. If he makes a similar leap, our LBs will be looking very good.
Augie Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 Interesting expert opinion on Nigel BradFORD's running mate. Oh well, I'll take any happy news.
WhitewalkerInPhilly Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 As much as I take PFF grades with a grain of salt, they did wind up being spot on with Bradham last year. I remember not being thrilled with the pick at the time, but the more I hear of him, the more it sounds like Brandon Spikes, only he isn't a liability in coverage.
26CornerBlitz Posted June 15, 2015 Author Posted June 15, 2015 whaley drafts the f*ck out of linebackers. Pittsburgh Steeler roots?
aristocrat Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 Gonna be fun to watch these guys blitz this year! The confidence this defense will have is going to carry this team.
LeGOATski Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 Pittsburgh Steeler roots? Yep. I'm glad he's following that model. We just need to get our Big Ben.
DrDawkinstein Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 Pittsburgh Steeler roots? It's also the position he played in High School and in college at Pitt, so maybe he just knows LB better than anything else. He certainly does draft the !@#$ out of LBs.
8-8 Forever? Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 Fwiw, last year PFF picked Bradham as their Secret Superstar who I thought had an excellent season and made big strides. https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2014/05/20/secret-superstars-2014-buffalo-bills/ Brown looked good last year. If he makes a similar leap, our LBs will be looking very good. you mean Nigel Bradford, as PFF puts it. Geez. This team needs to start winning some games; maybe then the media types will actually pick up a roster and read the names. You don't see anyone misspelling player names on the top 15 teams....
Tenhigh Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 ... sounds like Brandon Spikes, only he isn't a liability in coverage. Or in traffic.
John from Riverside Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 Preston brown is an absolute stud I think its going to be interesting to see if some of these later round LB's on the roster pan out as well.......they are loaded with athletic ability and have great size
BillsVet Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 The Bills must believe in him after trading Kiko and letting Spikes walk. He's not flashy but is tough, instinctive and very consistent. Should be a solid piece of a good D for a long time. Kiko didn't fit their defense for 2015 and Spikes was a 2 down guy. That said, Brown was put into the lineup early, wasn't a liability in coverage and improved throughout the season.
Green Lightning Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 whaley drafts the f*ck out of linebackers. Well, interestingly put, but it indeed appears to be the case.
DC Greg Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 What an awesome draft pick PB was. Looking to be a steal for a third round pick.
dpberr Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 (edited) I always wondered when it comes to making a great decision on a draft pick, who gets more credit for the ability to see the talent and accurately project it at the NFL level - Whaley or the scouts? Edited June 15, 2015 by dpberr
stony Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 whaley drafts the f*ck out of linebackers. He deserves big props for taking a joke of a unit and turning it into a position of strength very quickly.
eball Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 He deserves big props for taking a joke of a unit and turning it into a position of strength very quickly. It's not delivery...it's DiGiorgio!
