Optometric Insight Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 I dont see why its such a big deal if they've done it before. Social media can blow anything out of proportion
Uffalo Ills Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 (edited) Nay! It's kinda sad and desperate. Especially considering they got blown out so badly. Its not the worst thing a sports team has hung in their stadium, but it I wouldnt want the Bills hanging banners like that even if they do make the playoffs. Edited June 11, 2015 by Uffalo Ills
PromoTheRobot Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Yay or nay... http://mweb.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-football/25211107/colts-hang-afc-finalist-banner-at-stadium-internet-laughs-at-them Next they'll all get medals for participating.
JimBob2232 Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Is this really any different than an "AFC East Champion" (or any other division winner) banner?
nucci Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Banners are for Championships/Divisions...etc that you win. AFC Finalist is nothing to celebrate.
scribo Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Is this really any different than an "AFC East Champion" (or any other division winner) banner? Yes. Very different.
nucci Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Is this really any different than an "AFC East Champion" (or any other division winner) banner? Yes AFC East Champion...you win the division.....AFC Finalist isn't even a thing
Uffalo Ills Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Yes AFC East Champion...you win the division.....AFC Finalist isn't even a thing Exactly, its basically a "participant" banner.
scribo Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 The real sport of Indiana is basketball. I think this is a basketball mindset thing.
BarleyNY Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Perhaps it could go next to the "Great Job!!!" banner.
Charles Romes Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Does nothing but bring back painful memories of the 88 AFC title game when Bruce owned Munoz all day and then got that bogus Facemask call negating another sack.
YoloinOhio Posted June 11, 2015 Author Posted June 11, 2015 (edited) I'm kind of surprised they bothered hanging that, given Irsay's announcement that he is planning to win at least two SBs while Luck is there. http://www.indystar.com/story/sports/nfl/colts/2015/05/04/irsay-just-one-title-luck-enough/26890411/ Edited June 11, 2015 by YoloinOhio
Best Player Available Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 (edited) Anything regarding post season play is alien to an entire generation of Bills fans. So, the confusion is understandable. read a post somewhere on this forum that the team had a " great season" last year. In regards to a 9-7' team last season beating a playoff teams JV squad. To achieve that greatness. How low things have been for so long. So if the sign was hanging On the Ralph doubtful there would be complaints. maroon had a fake Lombardi hanging in the fieldhouse. its all a matter Of how fans/ coaches/ front offices perceive their team. In the end it's probably is to build some excitement like Marrons cardboard Lombardi. Edited June 11, 2015 by Best Player Available
Utah John Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 I say, nay. Banners should represent positive achievements, not a failure in an opportunity lost. The Bills have banners and signs at RWS about their AFC championships, and that's appropriate. They could just as well have put up banners saying they were SB finalists, but that would be ridiculous.
YoloinOhio Posted June 11, 2015 Author Posted June 11, 2015 Can we get a winning record banner?NFC North Champs
Kirby Jackson Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Is this really any different than an "AFC East Champion" (or any other division winner) banner?Kind of my feelings. If they hung a division champs banner I would have no issue. The same for a conference championship. Something about conference runner-up doesn't feel right. I would have no problem if they celebrated the lesser accomplishment of a division title so I guess that's a little hypocritical.

Winning your division is a regular season achievement. The banner should commemorate the milestone win not the last place you walked into a loss at.
