mead107 Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 Real maple syrup? Or other? Do you put blueberries in them? Other stuff? Do you put fruit on your waffles? I like real maple syrup. Blueberries and vanilla in them
Johnny Hammersticks Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 I like the fake stuff. Just syrup and butter on pancakes. Syrup, butter, fruit and whipped cream on waffles.
BUFFALOKIE Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 (edited) Boysenberry and maple at IHOP is awesome. Blueberries? Yes please!!! Edited June 10, 2015 by SAMMY HANDWICH
Chef Jim Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 Not a breakfast person. I have a friend who sends me real WNY maple syrup which is he best! I use it for cooking. It's great in my BBQ sauce.
YoloinOhio Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 (edited) All of the above depending on mood. Because, you know, YOLO. Edited June 11, 2015 by YoloinOhio
The Poojer Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Chocolate chips or blueberries. Fake syrup with butter flavoring and butter pats between each level
Gugny Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Three butter pats on top of each pancake. Fake syrup. Blueberries, if available. For waffles, 2 butter pats on each with fake syrup. Ice cold orange juice and a hot black coffee.
KD in CA Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Fake syrup?? Do all you people live in FL or something? I have a couple sugar maples so really want to make my own one of these years.

I've never bought real syrup in my life. I will this year. And when I do, I am going to bump the ever living !@#$ out of this thread!
YoloinOhio Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 I seriously only buy the real maple syrup at the duty free shop at the Canadian border. I stock up on the one in the maple leaf shaped glass bottle. If I buy it in Ohio, I go Mrs Butterworth. The real stuff is too expensive.
Chef Jim Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 (edited) I grew up in maple country in WNY. I remember as a young kid we were walking through the woods and came upon a shack. We went in and there was a big stainless tub in the middle. What was in it was frozen on the too. We broke the ice and tasted what was inside. The skies opened up, the angels sang as we looked at each other with huge smiles on our faces. We hit the mother lode. There is nothing like the real thing. I get some whenever I go back. Three butter pats on top of each pancake. Fake syrup. Blueberries, if available. For waffles, 2 butter pats on each with fake syrup. Ice cold orange juice and a hot black coffee. I'll bring some pure maple syrup to our next lunch with mead. It can't be beat IMO. Not a breakfast person. I have a friend who sends me real WNY maple syrup which is he best! I use it for cooking. It's great in my BBQ sauce. Yes on the BBQ sauce...and a teaspoon in a Manhattan is out of this world. Real maple syrup? Or other? Do you put blueberries in them? Other stuff? Do you put fruit on your waffles? I like real maple syrup. Blueberries and vanilla in them sorry mead...original question: buttermilk pancakes with butter and real maple syrup. Waffles with crunched up bacon (sometimes pecans) with butter and real syrup. Hungry
boyst Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 (edited) Pancakes: -peanut butter, smooshed banana, and pudding -pudding, chocolate chips -pudding, chocolate chips, strawberries -pudding, blueberries, blue food dye -pudding, vanilla bean flavoring, vanilla chips, buttermilk -pudding, chocolate Hershey's powder, tiny bit of cinnamon, marshmallows Waffles: -fruit -compotes mixed in -chocolate chips Also, some times make potato pancakes to keep healthy. And the answer to all, butter and syrup. Anything else added to it is gross. Just regular old Betty Crocker. Edited June 11, 2015 by jboyst62
CowgirlsFan Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Love them both but by the time I get the syrup and butter like I want...they are cold.
