Atmosphere For Home Opener And Season Alike...

Recommended Posts

Nope, this year is different. There actually IS a freaking ton of talent everywhere and for the first time in a looong time, we have the coaching to make that talent excel. Even without Marcel in week 1, the Colts won't stand a chance at the Ralph. When they come out of that tunnel, holy shiit, watch out boys.....

this year is one i am sure looking forward to.

I dont recall this much confidence by me in forever. it used to just be hope.

now its a bit of quiet swagger for me.

Absolutely. Not that the optimism wasn't unfounded or silly in the end, and not that there's not a lot MORE to be optimistic about this year.

But in that moment at 4:30 on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon in Buffalo last year? Man, I wish I could bottle that feeling.

Yep. I was "Bill"ieving for sure. Amazing how much has changed since then, and remarkable that we're even more optimistic now.

The atmosphere of the HO is going to be off the hook. It'll be like a playoff game. The exuberance of the fan base is overwhelming and, I think, a bit premature. The gnawing question of competent QB play keeps getting glossed over, but at least it gets mentioned. Ditto the OL. The issues of a new coaching staff implementing new systems and an influx of new players, many of whom are pricy or come with baggage, is totally ignored. The Bills have some real talent on the team and a great front 7, but there is a lot that has to come together reasonably quickly for them to make a deep playoff run. This team is good enough to make it into the playoffs, but I want more than that. I want a team that can win (or at least compete for) a title and with what we have at QB and the suspect OL in front of any of them I am not optimistic for that. I see a year a lot like 2014, maybe just a bit better. Maybe a bit worse depending upon the learning curves and how quickly the new cogs mesh. The best scenarios might involve the team clicking and then going all in for a QB next offseason.
