Been to Buffalo lately? There's tons of abandoned houses and buildings that need to go

The property gains value, and is purchased by real estate speculators who build higher end housing, leading to gentrification, chasing the poor, the working poor, and various minority and immigrant communities from their homes, ultimately leading to charges of racism and attacks on the "1%".

I didn't offer an opinion on whether or not it would work (it wouldn't, it's nothing more than a broken window fallacy); I simply stated what would happen following your proposed works program.
