Canadian Bills Fan
Hey guys, I am going to try this for the first time this summer and was wondering if it matters whether I use fresh dill grown in my garden or if it has to be dill seeds. Anyone here make their own? Any suggestions? Thanks! CBF
LeviF
Make sure you save the pickle juice. Nothing beats homemade pickle juice in your rettata. If you use fresh dill it'll have a different flavor than what you're used to with a dill pickle. Most recipes call for seed. You could try using both. Nothing wrong with a little experimenting. It's not like it's an exact science.

BuffaloBud
The stronger flavor is in the seed head. Dill is easy to grow. However, if the seeds fall off the head of the plant you'll have volunteer plants all over the place. They are easy to remove with a little hand cultivation. boyst
Honestly just go to Walmart or canmart-isnt that what its called there? They have a good prepackaged mix with instructions. As your first time its a good way to start. Eventually you'll learn to pickle everything. I pickle onions and peppers and that's some good stuff
