mitchmurraydowntown Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 Is there anyway to get any of these guys, besides Tom Brady with the * by his name (LOL): http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000493268/article/aaron-rodgers-reigns-among-top-10-qbs-tom-brady-takes-a-hit
PromoTheRobot Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 Well a surprising number of top QBs have expiring deals in 2016. Not sure how many will actually become free agents.
Dorkington Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 Can't imagine any of them will be available to us. It's really dumb to get rid of a franchise QB without another one in the waiting.

That's the reason I'm asking, somebody is going to want too much & if we do quite well this season I could see us obtaining one of them.
johnwalter Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 Demand for legitimate QBs far exceeds supply - once a team gets one they do everything in their power to keep them. So to answer your question: no, there is no way to get any of these guys.
Best Player Available Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 that Brady guy is intriguing. But scouting reports claim he has small hands and trouble gripping a fully inflated ball? Sounds Like he would be killer in a Nerf league though.
Fadingpain Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 It's fair to suggest that, as a general rule, any top franchise QB, such as the 10 on this list, will never be available until they are no longer worth having.
Over 29 years of fanhood Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 The most probable situation I see, and it's still unlikely, is the saint fall head over heels for Greyson and don't re-up Brees. Sort of like favre/Green Bay

We did get Bledsoe, would you have considered him a top 10 at the time ?? Drew got a heroes welcome at the airport anyways, so that says something (probably we were duped). Drew got a heroes welcome at the airport anyways, so that says something (probably we were duped). I said a general rule. Getting Bledsoe, when we did, would be an exception to that rule. But it shows it can be done. There have been rumblings (not sure how well founded they are) that Eli Manning or maybe Rivers could become available. Some argue for Brees. I'll believe any of that when I see it, but I'd take any of them, so long as it happens relatively soon. Like before they turn 50.
KD in CA Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 (edited) That's the reason I'm asking, somebody is going to want too much & if we do quite well this season I could see us obtaining one of them. And yet somehow they always get it. Other than situations where teams had identified the successor (Manning, Drew, Favre), when was the last time a top 10 QB just hit the open market? I don't think any of the 2016 FA QBs has an heir apparent. Edited May 22, 2015 by KD in CT
C.Biscuit97 Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 If they are available, then they shouldn't be viewed as top 10 Qbs. Top 10 Qbs don't ever come available because no team is stupid enough to let them go.

What would you folks consider Drew Bledsoe at that time, #8 in the league ?? Edited May 22, 2015 by mitchmurraydowntown
Nanker Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 Can't be a legitimate Top 10 List... EJ's name isn't on it.
Fadingpain Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 Yeah really, LOL. What would you folks consider Drew Bledsoe at that time, #8 in the league ?? Bledsoe?! Who's talking about Bledsoe! Bledsoe doesn't matter! You know why, mister? Cause you drove a Hyundai to get here tonight, I drove an $80,000 BMW.

That was like dating a one-time playboy centerfold who was a crack addict by the time she went out with you.

reddogblitz Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 when was the last time a top 10 QB just hit the open market? Peyton Manning 2 or 3 years ago.
