DC Tom Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 (edited) The poll itself as awesome. 91% of people on that site think Bob Kraft should "step down?" They actually want Brady to go to the mattresses with Kraft. They'r beautifully insane. Edited May 19, 2015 by DC Tom
The Real Buffalo Joe Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 What kills me was the insult added to injury in Kraft's language. Even deciding not to sue or appeal he could have at least ripped Goodell and the league office a new one. Instead we get "I do have respect for the commissioner and believe that he is doing what he believes is in the spirit of the best for the whole 32 teams." F**k you and the horse you rode in on, Bob.
eball Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 The poll itself as awesome. 91% of people on that site think Bob Kraft should "step down?" They actually want Brady to go to the mattresses with Kraft. They'r beautifully insane. And every post relies on the premise that they "know" the Pats** didn't cheat. It is a beautiful thing to watch.
The Real Buffalo Joe Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 He admitted guilt. This is going to be a whole new Spygate against us. This bastard has tarnished the image of this team forever. he bent over for that one and now is going to bend over for this one. I live in New Jersey. I'm going to have to walk around and answer these questions for the rest of my life? I don't think I can stomach it. It just gets tiring try to defend the Patriots all the time. When the owner won't even defend them, how can I?. He admitted We are guilty Why not? Kraft quit on you. Sell your tickets. Are you honestly going to give this man more of your money by going to the games? Sit home...watch it on TV (unless you're a Neilson participant)......cheer for the Pats....and then call the people who paid for commercials and let them know that you will not be buying their product. Or......you can go to the games.....give Spinless Bob more of your money and then rationalize how great a fan you are instead of the fool you've become. An even headed Pats* fan You people are nuts. Players, coaches, and GMs all want to win. Frequently, they violate rules- both major and minor- to help them win. From the beginning, I strongly suspected Brady was complicit in deflating balls below the league-mandated level. However, I never really thought it was that big of a deal. It's not PED-bad. It's probably not even spitball bad. A little apology, a fine, maybe a one game suspension. Brady could have said that referees had forced him to play with balls over 12.5, and he broke the rules by requiring the equipment guys to deflate them back down to 12.5 after the inspection. But Brady and Kraft both proclaimed their innocence and backed Goodell into a corner. They essentially forced the investigation. And the investigation at least strongly suggested Brady was complicit in violating the rules. Was the Wells report done well? I think not. Was there a preponderance of evidence? Debatable. Was the punishment excessive? Almost certainly. So again, Kraft throws down the gauntlet and challenges the league with a response to the Wells report and subsequent commitment to fight the punishment. Then, suddenly and seemingly inexplicably, he backs down and accepts the punishment. Did he just decide he didn't want to fight it? I seriously doubt it. He either received some secret benefit- which I believe is unlikely- or more likely, became aware of additional evidence or information that would make Brady and the Pats looks worse. So he wisely cut his losses. My prediction is Brady will eventually do the same in one way or another. Maybe accept a 2 game suspension as a resolution. Regardless. to turn against an organization that has constantly put a winning product on the field for all these years, merely because they don't contest a punishment that is probably a bit heavy handed but not without some justification is absolutely ludicrous. If you want to give up your season tickets or jerseys or whatever because you are done with the Pats please contact me. I'll be happy to take them off your hands. But you're all full of it- you'll be regulars on this board agains by the time camp opens.
DrDawkinstein Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 It's almost scary peeking in on such a large group of people who have convinced themselves of such a blatant lie and whose minds have all been warped. The cognitive dissonance in that thread is so thick you could cut it with a knife. I absolutely love it.
The Real Buffalo Joe Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Bob has basically just said "For the good of the whole 32, I'm going to allow the entire world to think our model franchise cheats every chance it gets." Brilliant! You can't make this up.
The Avenger Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 I live in the Boston area and let me tell you, these people honestly think that in the end the leaugue and the world is going to see "the truth" and there will be no punishment - it'll all just go away and the organization may even get an apology. These people are crazy and the echo chamber/bubble in which they live where there is no other viewpoint makes me wonder if I've suddenly been transported to North Korea.....
DC Tom Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 If the other 31 owners would have the ethos And honor of Kraft this would have been ok. But they don't !!!!!!! He really let down the Pats. I don't even know what this one means, but it's hilarious.
The Real Buffalo Joe Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Bob Kraft may be a great businessman, but he sure is a sucker for “the greater good” argument. Kraft would have fit right in in 1940s Germany. He would have been one of the Jewish leaders urging cooperation with Hitler while Heinrich Himmler was busy massacring Jews by the millions. Yes!!!! A Hitler comparison. Not it's complete!
eball Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Wow...and I thought this board was full of drama queens. I don't even know what this one means, but it's hilarious. You've apparently never had the ethos And honor then...
The Real Buffalo Joe Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Now he's a commie. "At no time should the agenda of one team outweigh the collective 32."Corporate socialism at its finest. The interests of the 1/10th of the 1% outweigh the interests of his own team, his community, his loyal fanbase and his neighbor (Brady). Same as it ever was.I was going to wait awhile, hoping there would be more to this capitulation. I thought this might just be a charade, where Kraft falls on the sword to help the NFL save face. In return, maybe a little fNFL headquarters house cleaning would be in order, along with a reduction in penalties, announced later to try to separate events. Bob Kraft's statement said it all. His "22 years ago I was a fan who was welcomed into the owners club" made it abundantly clear that membership in that club supersedes any and all responsibilities he has to the fans who have steadfastly supported the Patriots, his loyalties are with the owners, not Patriot fans. At this point the only reasons I am continuing to support the Patriots is because of Brady and Belichick who have earned our support regardless of ownership. I will continue to support them while they are there but doubt I will continue to support and follow the team after that unless there is a change in ownership.
DC Tom Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 I will now throw my Kraft Mac and cheese in the garbage. I'm not sure if that's sarcasm or epic stupidity...but since it's a Pats fan, I'll go with the latter. Yes!!!! A Hitler comparison. Not it's complete! Not the first...but that's certainly the best I've seen.
The Real Buffalo Joe Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 I am done. Little did I know that the trip to Arizona was the last football game I will ever watch. The game is just about unwatchable now anyway.
Lurker Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Yes!!!! A Hitler comparison. Not it's complete! Wow. When I said, "you people are nuts", I didn't mean literally mentally ill. But now...
DC Tom Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Wow. When I said, "you people are nuts", I didn't mean literally mentally ill. But now... They are so frothing-at-the-mouth crazy I expect a 9/11 conspiracy analogy any time now...
The Real Buffalo Joe Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Just got off the phone and delivered the simple message that they will not get another dime from me after Bob Kraft (I actually stumbled and said "Bob Crap" which I'm sorry I corrected) sold the fan base down the river today. I encourage others to flood the switchboard and the ticket office with their displeasure. I've decided I've given up the NFL from the 2015 season onward. I will still enjoy all my Patriot's DVDs from the 2014 Season and the past, and watch old free NFL content on YouTube from the past, but nothing from 2015 on. The NFL will never see another penny from me, and neither will the Patriots. IF I ever come back to the NFL, I'm not even sure I'd be a Pat's fan if Kraft still owns the team.
Hot Buffalo Wings Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 I live in the Boston area and let me tell you, these people honestly think that in the end the leaugue and the world is going to see "the truth" and there will be no punishment - it'll all just go away and the organization may even get an apology. These people are crazy and the echo chamber/bubble in which they live where there is no other viewpoint makes me wonder if I've suddenly been transported to North Korea..... I'm downtown and a lot of the people that actually care about football are just annoyed this is a thing. I haven't met anyone that would say they still expect an apology...Most believe Deflategate is real but just keep saying "They would have won the game anyways." or "its not that big of a deal, everyone does it" (Both very weak/useless arguments of course) I think the biggest gripe they have is the extent of the punishments. For the fans on that message board....they sound like your typical South Boston nut jobs! I'm sure everyone of those lunatics has a shamrock tattoo on their arses. But hey, they've only been fans since 1994 so it wont be too much for them to give up on their team now.
DrDawkinstein Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 (edited) This is great. So now it was a diabolical plan from EVERYONE ELSE IN THE COUNTRY to do this to the Pats, and WE are the cheaters. It couldnt possibly be the Pats that did this to themselves... All I can say is that this is disappointing and kinda sucky. However I will give credit to the other teams and the NFL for concocting probably the biggest POS sports scandal in the history of sports. They had NO ability to beat the pats fairly. So they had to cheat. They take a nothing issue and turn the whole world against the Pats and then for the coup de grace figure out how to turn the Pats fans against the pats.Bravo NFL Bravo. You have once again proved that cheating pays and that the USA is stupid enough to believe anything. Whomever cooked this up was brilliant. Edited May 19, 2015 by DrDareustein
stevewin Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Can't wait for the protests outside the statdim complete with fans** burning their merchandise
