I think full cooperation probably would have revealed more and then of course the penalty would have gotten much worse. It seems like it was smart to obstruct the investigation.

Full cooperation was never demanded.

I think the person who has looked the worst and keeps degrading himself is Robert Kraft. With Spygate and all that, you kind of just got the feeling he wasnt happy with that, wanted to be fair.... seems like a nice guy.

Then even at the beginning of this, coming to the defense of his team, I can see that and maybe he really did/want to believe.

But based on his actions in light of what has been found out... It reveals the guy is a shriveled little cheating fat toad

Rich guys always snort their own crack and lose perspective...pop a cialis pop your hot girl friend and live the senior citizen ream dude.. the hoodie will be competitive with gaarapolo and then they'll get 2 first round picks for him..brady will rest his balls and extend his career..

It was very uncomfortable for me when Kraft immediately started cozying up to Pegula as soon as Pegs was named owner. Whether it was earnest on Kraft's part at the beginning, or just the start of a manipulation to get Pegula aligned to follow him - it made me feel all dirty regardless. I'm hoping now that Pegs has his feet under him he can go to the owner's meeting and feel comfortable standing on his own and taking his own positions, which hopefully won't include defending or taking the side of the POS Kraft and his POS franchise.

I am coming full circle on this thing...I am tired of it, think the report is full of holes, and believe the harshness of the penalties makes the Pats and Kraft look sympathetic.

But then I also believe something was done to the balls, Brady most likely ordered it...I don't know, just want it to go away.

He seems to be trumpeting the fact that this is the harshest ever penalty imposed on a team. For comparison, what are some other harsh penalties imposed on teams?

Any feel for whether they were reduced on appeal?

The Saints penalty was pretty harsh, no?

It doesn't have to be. It's expected or else there will be penalties handed down. It's well understood inside the NFL that you cooperate with the commissioner's requests.

It is a very harsh penalty. He has every right to be upset.

That's what I'm thinking too, coach out for the year, GM 4 (?) games, can't remember any loss of picks though.

Penalties typically do increase in harshness when you are looking at a repeat offender.

2nd rounder in 2012 and 2013 probably would have been a 1st in 2012 but they had already traded it to NE. Also fined $500,000 the most permitted at the time.

I'm not saying that I disagree with the penalty; I don't. I'm just saying that it is harsh and I wouldn't expect any recipient of such a penalty to lie down and take it.

Thanks, so loss of coach for full season, loss of GM for 4 games, loss of DC forever, loss of 2 #2 picks, $500,000 fine and ne is receiving the harshest team penalty EVAR? Sorry, not buying it.

Dont forget about all of the player suspensions as well. It basically ended a couple careers.

Here is a comprehensive list:

Kraft was first welcomed to the league by Ralph. He was returning the favor

Don't worry about this. You don't get to where Pegula is by being a sheep.

Do you think Kraft only has one blue shirt with a white collar or whole closet full, like that Seinfeld episode?

The 1980's called. They want their jerk back.
