Deranged Rhino
A bad week for Rubio is only getting worse with his inane comments on the legacy of Iraq and how he would have handled the decision to march to war: Rubio went on the radio in New Hampshire and tried to “elaborate” on his opinion that neither he nor George W. Bush would have invaded Iraq with the benefit of hindsight: RUBIO: Well, there’s two separate questions involved in that. The first is if – what I was asked yesterday by Charlie Rose – was if you knew there weren’t weapons of mass destruction, would you have gone forward. And the answer is no one would have. We still would have had to deal with Saddam Hussein, but obviously would have done so differently. RUBIO: The president has to act on what he is told at the time, and all the leading intelligence agencies – and foreign intelligence agencies – were telling President Bush at the time that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. And they had a long history of producing them, of gassing their own people. And so it was not a mistake in the sense that the president made the right decision based on what he believed and had reason to believe at that time. RUBIO: The fact of the matter is that the world is a better place because Saddam Hussein is not around. RUBIO: Absolutely. If you believed that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction that they could have passed on to terrorists, that they could have used to massacre their people and used to start a regional arms race, you absolutely have to do that and you have to – the president’s not an intelligence officer, they have to rely on the information provided to them. So, to sum up: Rubio absolutely would have invaded Iraq, only he wouldn’t have if the WMD intelligence had been right, only he probably would have because doing so made the word a better place. And even though the intelligence was mistaken, acting on mistaken intelligence isn’t a mistake if you believe it’s true, so… The Aristocrats! So far Rubio has spoken out against reforming the NSA or the Patriot Act, spoken out against gay marriage, supported the invasion of Iraq (while also trying to distance himself from it poorly), and laid out the ground work for attacking Iran. Maybe his campaign slogan should be: BACKWARDS! It's at least an honest slogan. Doc
How does this make him different from Hilly, who actually voted to go to war, and still defends it?
reddogblitz
At least he's not hiding behind the troops like JEB is. "“If we’re going to get into hypotheticals I think it does a disservice for a lot of people that sacrificed a lot,” Bush said after explaining that as governor of Florida he called the family members of service men and women who lost their lives in the war." Deranged Rhino
How does this make him different from Hilly, who actually voted to go to war, and still defends it? It doesn't. Which is (one of the reasons) I wouldn't vote for either. At least he's not hiding behind the troops like JEB is. B-Man
Methinks Mr. Malloy needs to get out of the Salon bubble a little more Even the "mainstream media" praised some of Senator Rubio's stances taken this (supposedly) bad week.........lol I'll leave it up to the PPP posters her are Mr. Malloy's (reasoned) articles this past few days. GOP’s endless crazy train May 15 Marco Rubio’s grand whitewash: Iraq, neoconservatism and the foreign policy catastrophe he wants us all to forget May 14 Marco “Dubya” Rubio: GOP’s bright young hope promises to revive George Bush’s calamitous foreign policy May 14 Marco Rubio’s Hispanic debacle May 8 He's consistent........................I'll give him that. too bad his insight is Gator level. . IDBillzFan
A bad week for Rubio is only getting worse with his inane comments on the legacy of Iraq and how he would have handled the decision to march to war: Gee, a Salon article telling all the progressives that Rubio had a bad day? Maybe someone will balance this with an Infowars article about Hillary. C'mon, man. Salon is gatorman-level thinking. You're smarter than that. Deranged Rhino
Completely agree Salon is slanted, which is why I used only Rubio's quotes from his address. But it's a completely lefty leaning source.

I don't seen anything wrong with his quotes. He's saying what most other people on the right are saying. In fact, if you actually listen to him and not just read Salon articles, you'll find he has a pretty good command of foreign affairs. And at least he has the nutsack to answer questions. That said, as much as I like Rubio, I don't want another inexperienced Senator as our president. We need someone who has run something. And that pretty much wipes out Rubio, Cruz, and essentially everyone on the left except O'Malley, and the left won't let him run because he doesn't have a vagina that we're aware of.
