NobesBLO13 Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 Yes, my uncle, or more appropriately a guy that has the same parents as my dad.
Bad Things Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 We were all pretty confident that my former CEO was a sociopath. Fortunately, I got out of there as fast as I could. (and found a much better job by doing so!)
USMCBillsFan Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 I dated one and didn't figure it out until I came home from work one day with my apartment EMPTY! And I have a Psych degree.
Johnny Hammersticks Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 I meet budding sociopaths every day at work. Frequently, I meet their parents who are sometimes full blown sociopaths. It's become the norm.
Dr. Fong Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 Yes, my uncle, or more appropriately a guy that has the same parents as my dad. Got any stories?
Hazed and Amuzed Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 Lol I know a handful being in my line of work.
Buffalo Barbarian Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 The guy with 49K+ posts on TBD? he thinks you're an idiot.
LeviF Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 Wouldn't be surprised if a few regulars around these parts are.
Buffalo Barbarian Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 can a sociopath not be a killer? My son can lie and steal without the least bit of shame, he only feels bad when he gets caught. but he has never expressed any homicidal tendencies, he also has aspergers.
DC Tom Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 I dated one and didn't figure it out until I came home from work one day with my apartment EMPTY! And I have a Psych degree. That's not sociopathy. That's just general nuttiness. And yes, I have known a true sociopath, though not a criminal sociopath. Subtly, but extremely, abusive. She was a great help to me in teaching me that many of my problems with women were not my fault ("Wait a minute...this is nuts. I didn't possibly do anything to deserve this ****.") My relationships were much healthier after her. And no, Wacka, I'm not one. can a sociopath not be a killer? My son can lie and steal without the least bit of shame, he only feels bad when he gets caught. but he has never expressed any homicidal tendencies, he also has aspergers. Yes. Sociopathy is basically a lack of foresight and empathy towards others. It doesn't have to include stabby-stabby behavior - usually doesn't, in fact.

That sounds like a tough situation. How old is he? Can you take him to a therapist?
Buffalo Barbarian Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 That sounds like a tough situation. How old is he? Can you take him to a therapist? been to a million therapists, makes no difference. he's a good kid but never connects his actions with consequences. he only can think about what he wants at the moment.
