The upside is there and he would be an ideal fit for an interchangeable web of dlinemen. I'm not advocating the pick but we currently have a head coach who loves going against the grain, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised.

I suppose the question would be better said " can the Bills afford to wait a year on a player" regardless of his ability ?

Jaylon?

Nkemdiche could have as much impact as any other of the top flight prospects if he decides he wants to. That's the drawback with him, more times than not players with questionable effort levels end up being a nuisance at some point in their careers. Buyer beware. I saw a few games of his last year and I'd vouch for his talent, I have seen some guys around here doubting that and they spend more time reviewing games than I, so who knows!

Yes Jaylon, excuse me for that !

I am not a fan of Robert after i all i have read. These kinds of players are too much risk at that level.

Now Henderson in the sixth was absolutely worth the risk.

First and second round, i sure wish for an impact player or at least a very solid contributor

I try not too pass judgement on coaches deciding to draft players with questionable attitudes or work ethics. They are privy to meet these guys multiple times one on one and see what is under that helmet. When you hire a coach you sure as heck better hire one that understands individuals. I think Rex is better at that than the actual coaching aspect.

We can watch on TV and YouTube and guesstimate talent levels but the missing ingredient is the one on one interaction, that's the biggest difference between couch GM's and actual GM's. Even the best talent evaluators could get into Harvard Law School 10 times before they crack the GM fraternity.

I must agree. At some point we fans must trust these guys.

We are just barely on the outside looking in on these players.

i can use a personal example of being humbled.

Robert Woods.

man i was just tearing him up when he was dropping balls and falling down. Did the same with Hogan dropping balls getting a bit skittish stretching for the catch.

I would never have known they were both quite injured and the reports came out.

As fans most of us are limited in more then one way. And yet quick to criticise

Some folks here have trust issues LOL

But ya gotta have faith. that all we really can control

Versatile and extremely talented. He was the top recruit in the country. In addition the Bills have shown a willingness to take chances.

I guess it's the chance part i have become hung up upon.

The more i read the more i worry. Is this like a Rex thang? taking risky players?

26 - thanks for finding this link as it was very helpful. I could see Rex trying to get Whaley to pick Lawson with the connection to Clemson. I don't want Robert as he is just too risky.

It's funny as I was on NFLR a little while ago, and Alex Marvez said to me it will be telling who Whaley picks given he sees the rift last year between Whaley and Rex. His point was simply this draft will tell whether they have come together and share a similar philosophy, or does Doug think Rex could be gone, and not pick every player thinking we ahve to get Rex kind of guys, vs. just picking BPA. I thought it was an interesting point as Marvez seems to get a lot of inside scoop.

What is NFLR, who is Marvez and how does he have inside information?

I would go all out for 3-4 players that fit Rex's system . If Rex is too complicated and does not work and he gets fired, make darn sure the next HC will stay with 3-4 D.

If Wade Phillips can make it work with a less complex system another 3-4 DC can make it work here.
