He might be a bit of a homer, but...Clemson is in the discussion for best program in the country.

true but he did the same thing with the Jets and he will with us.

"Rex Ryan is a very loyal man.

Former Jets defensive lineman Trevor Pryce describes Ryan as "loyal to the point of defiance".

Sometime Ryan sticks with struggling players too long, almost as if the coach can make them play better, by his strong belief in them.

"[Ryan] seemed to think he could overcome the randomness with conviction, as though wanting something badly enough could will it into being," wrote author Nick Dawidoff who was embedded with the Jets in 2011.

"Sometimes with Rex it's blind love," long-time Ryan friend Sam Pittman told Dawidoff. "But this is who is." Part of it makes him great, part of it gives him flaws."

Top #NFLDraft prospects thrive at @OhioStAthletics' massive pro day event --> http://on.nfl.com/1YLem4v

CdYTbVyWwAA3Iv4.jpg

Offensive tackle Taylor Decker -- 6-foot-7 1/4, 311 pounds -- had a 25 1/2-inch vertical jump, performed 22 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press, and stood on the rest of his numbers from the NFL Scouting Combine. Decker had a good-plus workout. He was worked out very hard and had only one spot when it appeared that he got tired. Decker's pro day workout was a lot better than it was at the combine.

Quarterback Cardale Jones -- 6-5 1/4, 250 -- didn't do any of the runs and jumps due to a right hamstring problem that surfaced at the combine. During the positional workout, he threw the ball extremely well. He has a powerful arm, and can also take it off and feather it in there. As a result, Jones likely will have a lot of teams working him out this spring ahead of the 2016 NFL Draft. He definitely improved his status in the draft as far as quarterbacks are concerned.

Wide receiver Braxton Miller -- 6-1 5/8, 203 -- ran the 40 in 4.41 and 4.45 seconds. He caught the ball well in the positional workout, but has to learn how to run routes a bit better. Miller's ability is very reminiscent of former Buckeyes receiver Devin Smith, who was a second-round draft choice of the New York Jets last year.

Wide receiver Michael Thomas -- 6-2 7/8, 212 -- ran the 40 in 4.59 and 4.55 seconds. He had a 33 1/2-inch vertical jump, and then stood on the rest of his combine numbers. Thomas is a very good player, and he had an excellent pro day workout. He has a big catching radius, with long arms, and he has excellent ball skills.

Linebacker Darron Lee -- 6-1 1/4, 236 -- only did position drills, and showed that he is an athlete who moves around very well.

Linebacker Joshua Perry -- 6-3 3/4, 255 -- did a 4.43-second short shuttle and 7.24-second three-cone drill. He's kind of a high-cut guy. He also had a good positional workout, showing that he can change directions well.

What the heck happened WR DeRunyon Wilson, he has fallen down to 268 on draftek?

His name changed to DeJogyon at the combine and has been plummeting ever since

Posted (edited)

He bombed the 40 and his stock took a nose dive for being too slow. Sucks cuz I thought we wuda drafted him in the 3rd, now its lookin like Higgins at 6'2" with a good showing at the combine

Might see another adjustment back up the board soon. Pro day times were in the 4.71-4.78 range. To keep his grade for me, he had to equal Devin Funchess (4.70).

If the league wants to let him go late Day 3, I'd happily take him and prosper.

With free agency sure to crystallize team needs, here is my latest projection of how the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft will shake out.

BUF.png19. Buffalo Bills

Robert Nkemdiche, DE, Mississippi: The Bills probably should be looking for help on offense with this pick but as long as Rex Ryan has a say, the defensive line will get plenty of attention. Powerful and used to double-teams, Nkemdiche has the size and strength to be the defensive end Ryan had hoped Mario Williams would be. He's also quite athletic, boasting perhaps the most exciting raw talent as any defensive lineman in this draft. Ryan has never been one to shy from talent, even if it comes with red flags, as Nkemdiche does.

how slow was he?

he was rated a 3rd rounder so he must have some skills, could be a steal latter

He's definitely not a quick guy.

His best asset is his body control and ability to high-point the ball, which you'd expect from a former basketball player.

I probably would take a shot at him in the 5th or 6th, but there are other big guys that I like better (K. Garrett, K. Lawler, G. Allison, C. Core)
