26CornerBlitz Posted April 12, 2016 Author Posted April 12, 2016 @NFL_CFB 12 prospects that will be instant-impact rookies (via @CFD22) --> http://on.nfl.com/1S8nnlD Roberto Aguayo, K, Florida StateWill Aguayo be the first kicker to go in the second round since Mike Nugent (2005)? There's momentum behind the belief that kickers are more important than ever with the 15-yard extra-point rule being made permanent, and Aguayo can be a difference maker with the powerful leg he offers. I'll be interested to see if a team with strong playoff aspirations takes him in Round 2. Perfect fit: Bills

3rdand12 Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 The Bills probably have a few WR prospects in rounds 3-4 that they have tabbed as potentially solid #2 receivers and they'll probably pick one there. If that pick doesn't pan out then they can look to FA or the 2017 draft to replace Woods at that spot. IMO the Bills will pick either Paxton Lynch (if he's there), possibly trade the pick to a team like Denver who wants Lynch (if they're good with Taylor), pick a prime pass rusher or a CB if one of the top ones fall to them. I see no way they go WR with that first pick. Sammy is the go to guy and they need help in other areas. agree with all except the bolded. The underlined would please me no end

Whaley doesn't seem to take chances with character question guys unless it's in the later rounds. Whaley (not Rex) is going to pick someone who's a great player, someone who loves football and someone who's not a concern character-wise.

Maybe if they traded back to the end of the 1st to pick up extra picks.

"Such a Rex Ryan pick"...it bothers me that people perceive of Wrex this way....especially because I agree. Thankfully I doubt Whaley will select him.
KOKBILLS Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 "Such a Rex Ryan pick"...it bothers me that people perceive of Wrex this way....especially because I agree. Thankfully I doubt Whaley will select him. Sal C commented a bit on the Bills Draft Room and Rex's influence the other day on WGR...In a nutshell he said Rex's opinion, especially with Defensive players, is valued...But that's about as far as it goes...The Draft is Whaley and his Scouting Department's show...He did say that just by luck this Draft lines up with the Bills Defensive needs, and Rex is likely to get the help he would want regardless...But Sal was pretty insistent that Rex has no more pull on Draft picks than any other NFL HC...He did also comment that Rex really likes Whaley and there is a lot of trust between the two of them... It's funny because this is certainly not the first mention of Rex likely loving Nkemdiche...But I think we all know if Rex is going to be in there banging the table for any players it's likely going to be Lawson or Dodd first and foremost...You just have to know Rex loves those two with his connection to that school...And for good reason...They are both very good prospects...

FWIW, what Sal describes is exactly my understanding of Rex's role as well. Like him or not, Whaley is The Guy in charge of personnel in every way. He absolutely does his best to get Rex the pieces he covets, but he's making the final call.

Is that just a sign that expected picks will be status quo? Or that this draft could get crazy? 19. Buffalo Bills Robert Nkemdiche, DL, Ole Miss: Just one of those picks that seems too easy to make. Super-talented defensive prospect who falls in the draft because of off-field issues can be paired perfectly with a players' coach who convinces himself he can turnaround any troubled star and harness the talent in his defense.
