Kirby Jackson Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Evans went to Tampa at 7I believe that those were Kiper's words.
Big Turk Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Honestly, whoever we picked was likely not going to be a starter with the exception of potentially John Miller at guard. Â This team is stacked, so it would be near impossible except at guard for a player to walk in as a 2nd round or later draft pick and start from day one on this team as currently constructed...
billsfan1959 Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 I don't care much about draft grades or free agency grades, and I care even less about Mel Kiper's opinion on anything. I care about what happens on the field come September. I truly do not know enough about the individuals they drafted to know whether or not they will be successful in the NFL. I do know this: I like Whaley, I like Rex, and I am a huge fan of both Roman and Kromer. I think, across the board, we truly have people who understand football, the strengths and weaknesses of their players, and how to devise game plans to maximize those strengths and minimize the weaknesses. I didn't expect a great things in this draft, given their draft positions and lack of a first rounder. However, I trust their judgement on player evaluation and if anyone can get the best out of the players drafted, it will be the coaching staff they have assembled. I loved what they did in free agency, I think coaching will make a tremendous difference in how the offensive line performs this year, and I can't wait to see what they do when the season starts. Until then, I don't give a $hit what kind of grades anyone gives this team for free agency or the draft.
Tintonfallsbillsfan Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Never any love for the bills draft ,then you hear except for quarterback they have a loaded roster. hmmm
simpleman Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Â Evans went to Tampa at 7Â Â The reasonable assumption here is that if the Bills did not take Watkins earlier that Tampa would have taken him rather than Evans, and Evans would have been there for Buffalo .
YoloinOhio Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Â Â Â The reasonable assumption here is that if the Bills did not take Watkins earlier that Tampa would have taken him rather than Evans, and Evans would have been there for Buffalo . watkins fall to tampa at 7?! He was gone at 4, browns said they had the card ready to go and decided to accept the trade.
WhitewalkerInPhilly Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Oh thank god. I was worried about this draft, but with Kiper hating it things must have gone well.
BuffaloBillsForever Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Straight from the Kype himself... http://espn.go.com/blog/buffalo-bills/post/_/id/18654/mel-kiper-grades-bills-draft-as-nfls-worst  My evaluation of the Bills draft is an A- and I am usually critical of most moves the BIlls make.
Augie Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Let's grade his drafts Yeah, the hair's too easy. But his drafts might be easier.
YoloinOhio Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Let's grade his draftsjust spit out my water, well done
kota Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Darby could be the next Revis. Miller could be the next logan Mankins. It all depends. Personally I think the Bills did well in the draft. YOu want 3 guys in the first 3 rounds to be starters within 1-2 years. The rest are all depth players and you might find a diamond in the rough but chances are you won't. Whaley has done a great job since he became the GM. All he needs to do is find a QB and I am betting that EJ will be that guy come September.
truth on hold Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Different story, but same page, so... Â Â Â "Involved?" He was a passenger when somebody else !@#$ed up. How the hell is that a character issue? "fled the scene" Â Looking at 2015 in isolation given what they have to work with it was a good draft .. Kyper's wrong on that. A+ Â But when you assess it the proper way 2014/15 together over 2 years given the picks we gave up, it wasn't so good. B- Â Of note we got: Â 2014 Likely legit #1 WR Starting LB Depth @ tackle 2015 Starting DB, IMO top tier Upgrade at Guard (huge position of need)
bonechiller Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Makes me feel better, rarely are they accurate with their projections

truth on hold Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Let's grade his drafts he deserves credit for creating a media role evaluating drafts, had a wealth of information you couldnt find anywhere else. but now he's been surpassed by so many other analysts with better football knowledge and access to teams, he's really become "Mr. Irrelevant" of the draft analysts

Jeremiah was actually a scout for the Ravens when Rex was there and he always inserts knowledge about that when discussing scheme fits. I appreciate that kind of insight.
Ted William's frozen head Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 He works for ESPN, no wonder they have a problem with Buffalo except Berman, Kornheiser and Wilbon. The budget for durable Patriot kneepads @ ESPN is astronomical.
Rob's House Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Kiper and others weighed the Watkins trade in arriving at their grades. If they knew Whaley was going to otherwise draft Ebron I'm sure the grades would be higher.
Malazan Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Sweet, this should be the Bills greatest draft in years then
