26CornerBlitz Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 Maybe a dumb question but can the bills pay La'el whatever they want or under the CBA do they have to pay a certain contract based on slotting? They are confined to pay him according to the rookie wage scale as negotiated in the CBA. He'd have to make his "real" money in his 2nd contract.
thebandit27 Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 Maybe a dumb question but can the bills pay La'el whatever they want or under the CBA do they have to pay a certain contract based on slotting? Not really...they have to comply with the rookie cap
Kirby Jackson Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 Not really...they have to comply with the rookie capCan they restructure after a year?
thebandit27 Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 Can they restructure after a year? I think the CBA prevents them from touching his deal until the completion of his 3rd accrued season. That's why the rookie incentive program was established (I think)

That's why the rookie incentive program was established (I think) yep I remember both Seantrel and preston brown getting sizable bonus money after the season. Henderson made the most of any rookie in bonus Because of how late he was drafted and how many snaps he played

The Seahawks couldn't do it for Russell Wilson despite him being grossly underpaid. They had to wait as mandated by the CBA.

I guess it doesn't matter because I am advocating a pick on him.

Wayne Cubed Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 I think it would take some major convincing to get Collins to sign at this point, he would be loosing out on roughly $8MM if he thought he was going to go in the middle of the 1st.
EmotionallyUnstable Posted May 2, 2015 Author Posted May 2, 2015 I wouldn't even waste the pick risking a Collins deal
Kelly the Dog Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 Mario Edwards and Brett Perriman's sons getting drafted didn't help either lol Yup. Wait til six Cromarties get drafted.
YoloinOhio Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 @AlbertBreer: If Collins goes undrafted, a team could get creative, this year or next, with roster bonuses, etc. But rookie pool restricts that spending.
26CornerBlitz Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 @buffalobills #NFLDraft. Day three. Four picks. Let's go!
Wayne Cubed Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 If Collins goes undrafted he can't re enter the draft next season
playman Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 (edited) i think he can..... but i also think he should sign an UDFA contract with us and start at RG the upcoming eason Edited May 2, 2015 by playman
