BillsFan-4-Ever
what is the shelf life for frozen food? preserved foods last years.... so If the food is safe to eat I don't see any real issue.
Gugny
It was 6-years-old. That's not safe at all.

Gugny
The USDA is the only source I can find that goes as long as a year. Most other sites I'm finding say 4-6 months frozen is tops. I'd eat something frozen for a year. But I'd be leery; especially with pork.
Chef Jim
Frozen foods do not pose a health risk. Now quality? That's another story.

Wacka
i've eaten two year old food from my freezer. Tasted fine. Twelve year old Netsle's Quick, on the other hand, does not dissolve in milk any more. Edited May 1, 2015 by Wacka

Funny ... my son called me yesterday and asked if the Nestle's Quick that expired in August of 2014 was still okay to use. I told him ... mix it up in milk. If it looks like chocolate milk, drink it. If it tastes good, you're all set. If not, you won't die.
