After the bye we have Miami, @Jets, @Pats. 3 games vs division rivals in 15 days. We will know pretty early on if we have a shot at winning the division. Could be 2 losses there and then we are left fighting for a wild card spot with the season only half over :-\

Those first three games will probably go a long way in determining if we make the playoffs.

Yep, it could be a curse, with an 0-3 start not that unlikely, or it could be a blessing, with 2 tough wins at home and then a relatively easy game on the road. 0-3 or 1-2 would be bad news, particularly given the 5 out of 6 on the road (a nice FU Buffalo from the NFL scheduling department).

Would have preferred an easy team in the home opener without Dareus. Just hope he is back for game two.

I don't think he gets suspended. The league already handed out suspensions for infractions from that timeframe, and his name didn't come up.

When's the last time we had a prime time game at home?

The second New England game is the only one we have against an opponent coming off a bye week this year.

Bye weeks:

Week 4 Arizona, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Denver, Seattle, St. Louis

Week 5 Miami, Oakland

Week 6 Kansas City, New Orleans

Week 7 Philadelphia, Tampa Bay

Week 8 New York Giants, San Francisco

Week 9 Atlanta, Buffalo, Chicago, Detroit, Green Bay, Tennessee

Week 10 Houston, Indianapolis, Minnesota, New England, San Diego, Washington

Week 11 Baltimore, Dallas, Jacksonville, New York Jets

Week 12 Carolina, Pittsburgh

That's not correct. New England's bye week is week 4

I like playing the Pats early, at home. In recent years, the first few weeks are when they're shakiest, as Belichick figures out his OL combinations and which former Pier 1 employee will be his #1 receiver.

Forgot about the Dareus thing. Crap. Would really suck if our best player misses time early on with who we open against.

So the NFL gives suspensions for traffic violations now? Whats next, dude gets 4 games for a speeding ticket? Don't see how he gets any suspension with the plea, and if he does don't see how that holds up on appeal.
