Dante
ISIS plays the long game, and goes for the big spectacle. They want to do more than just "blow up a few buildings." They seem to like kidnapping a a dozen people( or more )and make snuff films. Edited April 17, 2015 by Dante
DC Tom
Like I said in the original post. "IF true". It could be sensationalist to get clicks. But there seems to be a lot of smoke on stuff like this. Combine this with the fact that no one in government seems particularly concerned with who crosses the southern border, a scenario like this isn't not only possible, but probable. No one in government's particularly responsible. The cartels would have to be involved, which makes it a DEA problem. Border security is a DHS problem. It's a terrorist threat, which makes it both an FBI and NORTHCOM problem. Department of State probably has to get involved, since it crosses the border (multiple borders, actually - so add CENTCOM to that list, and all the Pentagon intelligence agencies as well as the CIA.) Hey, remember when one of the findings after 9/11 was that information sharing and chains of responsibility had to be streamlined? How's that working out, do you think? They seem to like kidnapping a a dozen people( or more )and make snuff films. Snuff films are spectacle. Not the least because they know the Western media makes a spectacle out of them. ....lybob
Seems unlikely how much do you have to pay a Cartel to do something that would absolutely screw up their primary business? and why do these guys leave their prayer rugs and documents everywhere? if you need them why not take them and if you don't need them why not bury or burn them.......... of course maybe the cartels take their money and then kill them and bury them out in the desert that would make the most sense. Now I like that theory.
